What is your favorite slab for a barlow?

GEC's copperhead or antique yellow sawcut. Would love to see copperhead in the new sawcut striation pattern.

I missed out on sawcut last time, though I've grown very close to my A. blackwood marlow, so I gotta say I really like what this thread portends.

Blood Red Peachseed Bone that was used on the GEC #66 Campagna SFO's a few years back.

For me it would have to be saw cut bone dyed to a medium brown, no shield.

These 2 are supposed to be the same 'antique amber' sawcut bone, though obviously they are quite different. The 2-blade is the knife that I lost outside at work for a couple of days, and it has lost a little bit of it's original colour. It has a fair bit of wear already, and is definitely my favourite knife.

I'm also in the sawcut lightish brown bone camp for barlow handles. Ryan Sumner's TC barlows above, Old Hunter's and Primble's below all approach my idea of a quintessential barlow. (I recently saw a photo of pertinux's collection, and she has one very similar to Primble's that just knocked my socks off!)

From Old Hunter:

Smooth bone; red or yellow - doesn't matter. However, I want the dye job motley and nuanced.

Micarta, blue jean, coral red, canvas, or ivory.

+1
I like every handle I've seen on Barlows, but being a work knife, I don't remember seeing any micarta. I might add a Kelly green in the selection, make a great St. patty's Day knife.

I simply love green bone, be it jigged or smooth, Barlow or otherwise...

I'd have to agree on the sawcut, but would also love to see a stabilized burl. Make it happen Mike!!

Another vote for ivory. But micarta could be interesting. I think ebony/blackwood though is probably hard to beat.

Delrin or plastic. Seriously. I'm truly of the belief a Barlow should be an inexpensive everyman's knife of good steel and little fanfare.
