What is your forever knife

Of course “forever” changes so I can’t say but right now: for the last 2 years that small Sebenza has been my daily companion and I have no plans to make a change there. Honestly it does most everything I need to do on a daily basis as would many reasonable sized slip joints (I carried those for decades as my only pocket knife) but I am a knife guy and my favorites are fixed blades. I don’t have any sentimental attachment to any knife I own so that makes it more about intended use criteria.
I thought it would be easier to take pictures to show the knife in my shorts pocket and spare your eyes while I was wearing jogging pants on this nice cool morning. This CPK DEK1 will conceal completely in my pocket as you can see (yep, it’s in there in the first picture). As stated in a post above It will most certainly handle plenty . It is the largest one I have that I actually put down in my pocket yet it doesn’t print. I have tried many clips but slipping it in my pocket works best for me. A bit smaller blade would probably make more sense if it was truly every day. A Busse GW2 or a CPK EDC? But If it were down to “1” this would likely be my choice.

I don't seem to have one, honestly. I'm thinking about my collection and I don't have anything that really draws me back consistently. I basically just carry my newest purchase until I get bored of it, and then carry something I haven't carried in a while while I wait for my newest purchase to arrive. I'm hoping one day to find my "ol' reliable" but for now the search continues.

Clearly you need some LG in your life!

Depends on "forever" in what context . . .

In terms of usage, it would be my 5 SAK Explorers, that I have stashed here & there in the house & elsewhere, which are the most useful knives that I own:

In terms of collecting, it would be my Kershaw Shallots (1 user & 7 collectors) because the Shallot was the 1st knife of any significant cost that I ever bought & because it was the one that gave me the incentive to start collecting knives:

And, in terms of nostalgia, it would be my 3 dot Buck 110 Folder from the mid-70's because it's a legendary brand/model & the 1st knife of any note that I ever purchased & still brings back memories of those days 50 years ago when I hold it:

These are all "forever" knives to me for the reasons stated & I would never "get rid" of any of them.

Benchmade 710, specifically a 710DLC-1 in M390.

Always thought the 710 was the coolest looking thing around when I was still in grade school and didn't have any money. The M390 710 ended up being my second one - I made a post on BM's forums asking about them a year or so after they were sold out, and a very generous member there offered to sell the new guy (me) one at cost. It's a good daily carry knife and an excellent hunting knife, particularly after learning to use the Edge Pro to get inside the recurve.

I have a Spyderco in my pocket more often now but the 710 still gets some use, especially during deer season. It's that original knife interest spark, a good memory and reminder of the kind folks on the forums and in the community in general, lots of good hunting experiences, and still just a dang cool and effective design.

I picked up a few backups over the years too. If the AFCK and Ares could be discontinued, I figured it might happen to the 710 as well. Ended up being a good thing 👍

Mine is a Buck 192 Vangaurd. I've not had it all that long, about 8 years, but I wanted one since I was a kid. This one was a gift from my mother-in-law, sorta. She sent me some money for Christmas that year, and I bought the knife used on ebay, throwing in only $5 of my own to cover shipping. It's been my favorite knife ever since.

Next in line, would be my Case XX 6.575 Jumbo Stockman. I bought it on sale at ACE, again, with money my mother-in-law sent me for my birthday one year. I've carried it almost constantly for 5-6 years now.

Can't quite read the markings... serrated S110V and ZDP-189 composite? Very nice!
