What is your knife budget?

Wow, 2004? This is an old thread! But since you brought it back to life I'll play.

I have no knife budget per se. My hobbies are varied so my money tends to shift between them depending on my mood and interest at the time. I may binge on knives for a few weeks and then not buy a new knife for months at a time.

I really don't have a "Knife" budget per say ~~ as I see and I like I buy and there is no in-between.!^^
GEC & S & M & Spyderco & Custom ~~ just how are you supposed to set a limit when there are so many Knives & Guns
out there asking you to give them a nice home.! { this month so far $470 and getting another #73 ordered today plus a
Case Pearl Scaled Swayback Jack ~~ so to end the month I guess it will be around $700 more or less.! } I look at it this way ~~ I could buy a lot worse things than Knives & Guns (no Guns this month) to spend my money on and besides that my Sons can use them when I am gone. And at times I think they are just a waiten.!*** lol

As of now it's $0.00 and it's gonna be that way probably till the end of summer. Have everything i need and more and will have to sell some. I have to stop!!!!!!!!!! :)

It varies from month to month(depends on how many movies, CDs, etc I want that come out that month), but generally speaking I'd say probably $200-300 a month.

Currently zero. I don't need or want any more than what I already have.

Because I'm in high school, I am poor and I only have about <$100 per year on knives... It is sad I know.

$100-$200 a month on knifes for years and you aren't a dealer? I am I the only one who think that's a little obsessive? Compulsive buying disorder? I guess you only live once and if it makes you happy, so be it... It still seems way over the top to me.

It's interesting to see the spread. My lady used to complain, until I bought her a set of semi-custom steak knives in M390. The key is to get your spouse hooked.

I've spent less than $100 in two years (Spyderco Persistence and Sharpmaker last year) and have been gifted a Manix 2 G-10 that I would have purchased if it wasn't gifted. Total is under $200 in two years and I'm good with that.

Wait... $300ish... ESEE 3 in December. I'm a Laser Strike away from having all I want.

I'm a freelancer with a couple of different hobbies, so my general budget varies a lot from month to month depending on different work related circumstances and my specific knife budget is also affected by how much money I spend on my other pastimes.

For instance, this month I've only bought a Protech TR4 because I ordered a lot of out of print and hard to find books (another passion of mine), bought a new Remington 597 and accessories and as much ammo as I could lay my hands on (we've got a shortage coming, luckily one of my clients is an ammo distributor who gave me a heads up).

Knife availability is also an issue for me here in Argentina. Sometimes I've got money, but there isn't anything interesting to buy. Ordering from abroad has become a nightmare because of new import laws, so I either have to wait for friends/relatives who live abroad to bring me stuff or for the one or two shops that import knives to get something I like.

Compare to some of the other guys on here my budget is considerably lower :D about $15k /year. But i hope one day i can do $160k lol :D

I put about 750-900$ dollars per month into my hobby budget which includes knives, guns and tactical gear. I usually only buy 1-3 knives a year and often sell a knife here and there. have not spent more than 300 on a knife so far, so I would say sub 1k a year on knives and that is not counting the money I get back from selling the ones I didn't like or use enough to keep
