What is your most valued knife?

My father's German Swiss Army style knife, which, I believe he bought in Germany sometime in the 1930's. It brings back memories.

My most valued are my grandfather's knives that were given to me by my father.

You should be able to tell which one he carried the most! I just gave them a nice oil bath tonight, but still need to see about getting some rust off the Camillus. I don't really want to hit it with any steel wool, as I don't want to mess with the patina.

I've posted this pic in other threads. My mother and father bought me this Case Sharktooth folder as a Christmas present sometime in the mid 1970's. My mother always reminded me how expensive it was. They propably paid full list price for it , which was about $75 back then.

The knife I use the most, is either my Vic Climber, or my Izula. But I suppose "my" most sentimental knife, is not my own. It is a traditional norwegian "tollekniv" (scandi knife) my father made for my grandmother. When she passed away last year, the knife went to my 8 year old daughter.

Most sentimental would be my grand fathers faux-damacus Imperial barlow. It has marks on the blade like it was pressed by a hamburger press. It's a piece of crap with hollow bolsters & plastic scales but it's never leaving the display case. My most valued would be a Case Tested candy stripe barlow.

Most valued? A knife I really don't like and never would have bought for myself.

A gift out of the blue from the Man himself. It just showed up one day, about two months before the dealers got them.

Mine would probably be my Busse pumpkin battle mistress. It isnt my most used knife (mainly just use it for garden work) but it was a gift from my brother and his fiance (also a good friend of mine). It was super cool to go to bed and find this mistress waiting there for me :D

My Benchmade 45. Picked it up way back for $200 which was a lot for someone working part time in high school. It was hard to find back then and is dang near impossible to get nowadays.

My grandfather's folder that he carried during WWII and Korea, and edc'ed for years afterwards. It's one of those four tool knives that has the drop point blade, can opener, awl, and standard screwdriver. I got it when I was 8 yrs old and one of the scales had a chip out of it, and thru my teen years, the whole side scale came off, which made the knife wierd to carry, because it had these exposed pins sticking out. Years ago I carefully layered black silicone caulk onto where the missing scale was with the notion that if I ever could get a replacement scale made, the silicone caulk could just easily be cut out. It has that used-but-not-abused look to it with a real patina to all the high carbon tools on it ( thank goodness it's not one of those "fake" patinas that [most] want to make me projectile vomit). So not a glamorous knife but one that takes me to a time that Grandpa was still alive and we were together. He made me feel like the most important kid in the world....

My Queen Classic Cattleknife. My buddy and I begged Queen to bring this one out and they did for 50 in stag, and I never though I would get one due to our financial struggle at the time(still not as bad as now though!!)! I didn't know it at the time but he had one left and my wife new how bad I wanted one and she got it for me at Christmas!

It would have to be my Randall mod 27 and my Idaho Knife works "Cumberland knife" with 7 inch blade and stag handles .

My most valued knife is my Buck Buckmaster. I always wanted one but just never got one and when I could get one they didn't make them anymore. I was at a gunshow one day and a guy had this one sitting on his table. It had the box, paper work and everything with it. The only thing it didn't have was the large pouch. Anyway it was in near new condition, just handled alot. I asked what he wanted for it and he said he was selling it for a friend and he wanted (a drumroll was going off in my head) a $100 for it. I about had a fit! But didn't let on. I said "well OK I'll take it" and paid for it and couldn't have been happier.

I got to go to A.G. Russells open house when he opened at his new location and got to talk to CJ Buck about Buckmasters. I also called Buck and they still had large pouches at the time and I bought one for it for something like $11. So if I could only keep one knife it would be my Buck Buckmaster. I love this thing!
