What is your OTHER expensive hobby?

Knives, Guns, Flashlights, are the things I collect/use, but I rock climb (trad) and I've got a few thousand in equipment. Ropes and other stuff need to be replaced fairly regularly. I also like off road. Accessories and fixing things is expensive.

Watches......although not quite in the same league with cockroachfarms' past collection...

That was then, this is now ;) I always made sure that interested people knew I was a watch collector, not a watch snob. My favorite watch at the time was a $250 sterling silver housebrand watch from a local jeweler. Still is. (And, as a collector, I have respect for an unusual or old Timex - but not for a fake gold Rolex; even the ones for $2000.)

Guns and motorcycles--- mucho dinaro

dabble in watches---knives---guitars---bicycles but nothing like most of you guys.

the most expensive things in my life are my daughters---which cost me a fortune-----lolololololololol

I don’t really collect knives since all the ones I have are users, or even if they are pretty nice, I will use them anyway. I can say my horses have taken up pretty much all my disposable income. I tend to end up with oldies or cripples that have no where else to go. I call them yard art and really enjoy having them, but feeding gets expensive

Raising four kids. "It's not just a job...it's an adventure."

I've been known to purchase a few good watches, handguns, and maybe even some high-end wines and 'art.'

But that's just me.

Archery, Archery and then some more Archery...
But if I were a golfer that would end up costing more than all my hobbies combined.

Art....on par with knives. My wife and I collect sculpture and paintings from Misha, Erte, LiFeng, Bustamante, Parsons and Treby. My OTHER hobby can make knife and art collecting look really inexpensive...BOATS! I've managed to stay away from the ownership aspect during ten years of marriage...which is the ONLY reason I have money for knives, guns and art!

fishing, computers, and once in a while photography. Oh and shooting/hunting and guns in general

GOLF!!!

During the summer I'll golf or hit balls (driving range) nearly everyday. It helps to belong to a country club, but the club membership is expensive. Golfballs, entry fees for outings, equipment upgrades . . . YIKES!! But I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

Andy

Guns (long range shooting being tops, WAY spendy), nitro RC cars/trucks, old military stuff......anything old and *cool* (ie, straight razors, lanterns, tools etc)

Too many hobbys and not enough time or money

I make knives
I raise and train quarter horses
Shooting....air guns, black powder, guns, archery.....got them all covered
Hunting
Welding

I really need to be rich and retired :grumpy:

..... My OTHER hobby can make knife and art collecting look really inexpensive...BOATS!....

One of the few passions I have left to pursue - but I doubt if I will. :) I used to have a friend who had what I thought was decent sized boat. He told me it cost him roughly C$6,000. each Spring just to prepare it for the summer! Another boater friend had this colorful sign hanging in their kitchen: "Definition of a boat - a hole in the water surrounded by wood through which one pours money." :)

Guns guns and guns!!!
Reloading, ballistic tests...
HTH combat.
Knives and knife fighting.
Hiking, hunting, camping.
Cars.....like to work on Sleepers.
Starting to get into western martial arts, considering more european sword study.

I'm a workaholic.....does that count?

JSA(All those katana like objects:D )
Mountain Biking
Billiards
Paintball
R/C cars(Losi stadium truck with brushless motor)
Shooting(it's not the guns, but the ammo that costs, and I have a re-loader)
Books

I collect older (1989 or older) Smith & Wesson revolvers.
I just fell in love with them after owning a couple and kept going.
Also, I have a family full of retired cops, that were on duty in the 70s through the 80s, so it's part of my family culture too.

I prefer blue, but I have one stainless .357 that I take on road trips.
If and when I get my CCW, I'll carry a little old all-steel .38.

I try to buy one of these old treasures a year. But, as I get more "INTO" it, and learn more about these, my desire for specific older items makes it harder and harder to acquire something I REALLY want at a price I can afford at this point in my life. But, if I had the money, I certainly know what I'm looking for.

Here are some things (you probably can't tell from the pics) I've been lucky enough to lay my hands on over the last several years.

[By the way, if you have anything like this, I have some knives I can trade for it.]
