It's at Duntulm Castle on the Trotternish peninsula, here on Skye.

"Duntulm Castle is an ancient fortification. It started life an Iron Age broch and then became a Pictish fort. The Vikings then used Duntulm as a strategic stronghold. Finally, it was used as a castle first by the MacLeods and then by the MacDonalds. They abandoned the castle in about 1730."

Cars can get pretty expensive. I like to work on my car but it's all repair type of work. Not any massive horsepower work yet lol.

I also like to build computers which can be addicting and expensive. Spent a couple thousand dollars in that area before I even had a job.

Hopefully I will be able to start gun collecting like so many of you guys. I have always been interested in guns, but have only been able to collect air rifles as of yet.

I paddle and race one man outrigger canoes. Boats are 3k plus and travel and gear add up to more than knife stuff. I also collect wine but as wine prices have skyrocketed wine collecting has almost stopped. J

25 years of dirt track racing.the last 6 years were sprint cars, ran two teams.
The last night we ran I lost one engine due to driver running with low oil pressure light on and the other car flipped...$40,000.00 down the tube.
35 for the motor and 5 for the flip.....I have retired from racing.
Now I spend most of my money on knives, guns and hunting.
And my chopper that I am building....3 years on it,hope it will be finished in Feb 2007.

I have cut down on collecting knives, I have over 50 now and I like the range that they cover- so now if I'm interested in a new one, I sell off one of my collection to afford it.

My other expensive hobbies are snowboarding in the winter, and alpine climbing in the spring through fall- eight snowboards and all those roadtrips can get expensive fast.

As for climbing, I have done it for over 25 years, so I am just replacing gear as it gets worn out, but I did a insurance spreadsheet some years back for an overseas expedition and the total replacement value of my gear came out to the cost of a good used Porsche 911. Hmmmmmm.

I don’t really collect knives since all the ones I have are users, or even if they are pretty nice, I will use them anyway. I can say my horses have taken up pretty much all my disposable income. I tend to end up with oldies or cripples that have no where else to go. I call them yard art and really enjoy having them, but feeding gets expensive

Man, if you give old and crippled horses a home when they have no where else to go, may God bless you the rest of your life.

I like guns and militaria. Also have a thing for numistmatics, with a recent emphasis on CSA (Confederate States of America) items.

I've been collecting watches for the past couple of years. Yikes does that get expensive quick! My wife would KILL me if she knew how much I've got in them at this point.

I've also invested in a pair of Zeiss Victory FLs 8x32 for my birdwatching activities. Nothing like a pair of primo binoculars to bring things in close. :)

Thai Boxing, aikido, yes guns, sports, djing and clubbing, art, skating, reading. It's all costly

Not really a knife collector, I have two and use both of them regularly. Some of my more expensive hobbies have been: Cars, at one point back a few years ago I had 5 cars at once, a bit much for one person. Bicycles, I can't ride conventional bikes anymore due to muscularskeletal problems with my wrist and arms, but back in my heyday I had 5 bikes at once, over $36,000 worth of bicycles, clothing and accessories. :) Now I have a small folding bike for trips and a recumbent bicycle that I regularly ride, about $3000 wrapped up in the two of them. I like to cross-country ski in the winter, I buy my equipment all used so total cost for that would be around $150, not bad at all, pretty cheap hobby. I'm thinking of buying a canoe this summer, so that could get me started in another hobby, we'll see how everything goes. :)

My 1969 chevelle is the most expensive collectible and hobby.

I got into collecting brass/iron/metal knuckles and ended up writing 2 books about them. Still finding new ones all the time.

Then I got into tactical tomahawks - started collecting, just finished a book for Paladin Press on them.

Now I am into blackjacks and saps as well as other contact weapons and will try my hand at writing about them.

So I guess writing is my hobby too!

bicycles...italian steel is my preference...pegoretti, tommasini
books
flyfishing/flytying

Modifying my car. I've been playing adding to the suspension to make it more fun to drive.

Occasionally paintball, was expensive, not so much anymore. When I go now, I play pump.

Reading can get expensive.

Knuckleduster, I wish I could finish some books like you have. I've had at least six in the works for years now, all in various stages, all fiction.

Looking to get back into target shooting with either a gun or bow again soon, and that's going to be expensive.
