1 Thessalonians 4:17: "After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."
That's my plan of attack!
Lest i am wrong, it does not give a exact time line when Christ will lift us up. The tribulation is not God's wrath but from Satan. So i dont really follow, but then again most Messianic Jews like me are more of pessimists, its a natural bred genetic thing that keeps us alive when the rest of the world (well almost the rest of the world, not quite everyone, lol) wants to kill us on a regular basis
My plan...
A) know my history, so i will know my future
B) Dont repeat other's mistakes. Hitler should have read up on his history with Napolean. But then again, Thank God he didnt was a Domb Kopf
C) BOB bag at home, and a smaller one at the Car. Medical kit (doctor level, so meds/abx etc...) I have several Freeze dried bags for food in my home kit, and protein bars in the car kit.
D) Redundant water systems. Water tablets, Filter, in the car in the house
E) I cant decide between my REmington 870, but for now its my Smith 686+ and Marlin 1894 in 357. I just love that combo.
As for others people input... I disagree with the Chianti, i like more of a Shiraz. I think it would go better with Deer and Elk.
Oh and before i forget, next step in my plan, take a ESEE course and then teach some of it to my kids. I am already teaching them knife safety, gun safety and we are now on learning to build a fire... Passing on the knowledge is critical
...and a machete will outreach a knife. Just saying.

This is my first post in the ESEE forum. My mistake. I have been preparing for SHTF since Jimmy Carter was elected. He was/is anti-2nd amendment.and I knew we were in trouble. Since my bride of 30 years and I are in our late 50s we will just bunker up in place. There are so many possible scenarios that is impossible to prepare for them all. I think some or the most likely, at this point in time, are:
1) Total economic collapse
2) Global war. We have 2 carrier battle groups in the Persian Gulf, and the Chinese just announced they have a carrier killer missile that can be launche from 900 miles away. Iran is a Chinese clent stae. Wonder if they sold the Iranians any of those? What would the U.S. do if the Iranians sunk an aircraft carrier? Go nuclear?
3) Civil war in the U.S. Things are pretty tense right now. Government at all levels does not appear to be responding to the wishes of the people they serve.
I think the first thing anyone should do is get right with what ever Higher Power one chooses.

Took the words right outta my keyboard. If and when SHTF ,I'll hold out as long as I can or seems fit and safe to do so, but I figured in 30 minutes I can pack all I need in the Jeep and leave it all behind.I live in a city, so off to the mountains ( 1 hr. drive) I would go. I am lazy, so I don't realy have a plan. But I agree with the light and fast part. Grab the gear that is in the small pack and do what ever I need to to servive.

Well, I figure AFTER then end times, there really isn't going to be much of a point. On a related note, and just to clarify, the Mayan calender doesn't end in 2012 or ever actually. It rolls over like a clock. 2012 (speculation) is just the 13th rollover of the longest part (long count) ending on the winter solstice (Which isn't actually true as that would entail that the Mayans created the calender 66,674 years ago, which of course they didn't.)
Of course, I could be wrong, in which case I'm gonna stock up on Funyons and root beer and get really really high.

Meh. The whole Mad Max idea is horse pucky. It takes 200 ft^2 to dirt farm all the veggies a person needs. 100 ft^2 if you do it aquaponically. I currently have 300 gallons in farming tilapia, 500 ft^2 under cultivation and another 10k ready to go this season. Being ready is called being green. My aquaponic growbeds are currently in lettuce, just to keep the fish water filtered, but can be shifted to more nutritious crops within weeks.
I have a spring next door and a crazy herd of pigs up the hill. 500# of wheel weights, moulds, a .458 SOCOM and I'm sitting tight.
Forget the road warrior guys, just try to grow some of your own food and you'll be set.

I don't really care what happens. There have been many things I have "cared" about on the national and global level but there always seems to be people much more powerful than I that get precisely the world they want. How could any thinking person possibly "care" about this level of national or global stupidity when there is nothing you can do about it in the final analysis? Denis Leary said he takes life one beer at a time and every beer one sip at a time. That's the way I take my coffee because I don't drink a lot of alcohol.
That's the way I "take" tragedy and stupidity on a national and global level as well. One at a time.
The sacred franchise of voting is all shot in the ass and just about as worthless as a Soviet-era election at this point. No one ever does what they say they are going to do. Hell, President Obama was a SAVIOR to liberals and even he didn't do what they wanted him to do regarding war.
None of them do what's right anymore. And because of corruption and the otherwise stinky nature of man, none of them will ever do anything of real importance or substance again. The machine is broke. Not going to be fixed, either.
How do you like that for pre-coffee analysis?
