What is your plan for the end times?

Presumming that im am left about at the end of times; I would have this blasting in some head phones within my helmet;

And with a whole host of stimulants on board and
As this drowned out everything I would walk about with my flame thrower seting everything ablaze.

thats about the jest of it. :D

What the heck was that? :p Wouldn't some nice old fashioned Metallica suffice?

Not Metallica....not for that, maybe this

DONT EVEN PLAY THAT VID IF YOUR NOT TURNING THAT SHET UP LOUD!

That would have been cool when my testosterone levels where higher. Now it just gives me a headache. :)

The end of times is comparable to a forest fire. Was thinking today as the weather here is drier than tinder, and it looks like a long dry spring may be on the way.

If the fire threat is immediate and with abit of time; I will grab all the guns, knives, DVDs, CDs, computer drive, and other valuables such as paintings, finally the generator, chainsaw and the cat.

Then get out.

my plan is to sit tight & hold on..... the bugging out into the wilds is a pipe dream for most folks and the people who live in the boonies better be prepared for these pipe smoking people....
make do with what you have and your location because your not going to get a week's notice that SHTF. if you have supplies then your good , if your a week to week on food & water change your habits now...pay off debit and invest what little extra cash you get into food & water and ammo.... IMO and sit tight ride the wave b/c no one is coming to save you....

The mind has many more rounds than any gun. ;)

Unless of course in the event you eat a bad fungi and get all whacked out, then …well, I don’t know what to tell you.

In the event of "bad" fungi eating, listen to TTD's advice on bugging out "Sit tight and hold on" ;) try not to let it compund the situation.

I think the fantisizing with the end of civilization is the romantics of true freedom and its return. Being able to do whatever you want and not be checked by some yellow line, or law you can't read, or some other nuisance of modern life.

How would you define true freedom? Were we ever truly free? Are we not free currently? Weither the system be one of man made parameters or those of non-human source we are and have always been free to live within the terms of our environment. A yellow line does not empeed our way, it’s the embedding of social conciseness and thus of what follows failing to obey the yellow line that deters us; but in all actuality we are able, and thus free to do as we please.
I’m not disagreeing with your evaluation of the pathos inherent with “end of times” discussions, I just see the deeper water to irresistible to not make mention of; I greatly enjoy conversations of such nature.

Freedom is in the mind.

If you're not free in your mind, you're a slave. We're surrounded by slaves, don't be one.

Reminds of a saying we had when being tortured (or so we thought :p) in training: "You can make it longer. You can make it harder. But you can't make me care." That little bit of rebellion and internal freedom carried a lot of us through.

thanks boss.

no matter the events you prep for be flexible.....don't prep for one thing...

Almost forgot, not to pick your plan apart, but you'll be alot better off in a bad situation looking like a redneck than you would looking like a merc.

Be the grey man, blend in and don't draw attention to yourself. Keep your guns out of sight until the last possible minute.

^^^ what he said....even in car BOB's and stuff, avoid the camo/soldier stuff.

Blend in...blend in...blend in....when your not avoiding them. :)

my true shtf situation is hurricanes...been through 3 in last four years...i have been lucky and only had to change roofs and other minor items...ie..windows and such....the last storm..Ike.. brought the gulf of mexico to within one block of my house..and i live a good 12 land miles from the gulf....our plan in place and now well rehearsed (for real) is to evac for storm then return and live off provisions in place....Thanks to my preps we were easily handling food and water....What i learned from Rita is if you want to be comfortable is to have a two week supply of gas to run you generator....or drive every couple of days to houston and wait in line for hours...so by ike i thought i had it figured out and had plenty of treated gas.....and we did and were fine..however if the water would have came another quarter mile all my preps would have been for nothing since they would all have been washed away....i guess what i am getting at is no matter how you prep....your education and determination are your most important assets....Drew

I like that torture saying. You're right, in a sense, freedom is in the mind.

No matter how the end times may come what are some of your preparations?
I believe in a reasonable level of preparedness. I expect I could easily survive a Katrina/Haiti level catastrophy. Extra food, extra water, tools, weapons, and the knowledge of how to use it.

On the other hand, if the S really hits the F and we experience a true TEOTWAWKI or "end times", I really don't expect I would surivive. IMO the ideas some people seem to have to bugging out to the woods, romantic as they seem, just are not practical for a life-long plan. IMO the amount of time, money, effort, dedication and sacrifice necessary to be realistically prepared are just more than I am willing to commit to, on probably vanishingly remote chance the end really happens in my lifetime.

Of course, if it ever does happen I'm screwed. :p
