What is your sliciest knife?

Sharpest vs. which is the thinnest to slice are two different things. Sharpest is my Seamus Knives Cracked Uber. My thinnest bladed knife is my Delica.

Yes, those are different things, and I don't really consider sharpest out of the box here because to me, any knife will get dull and I will have to sharpen it. Getting a knife supper sharp depends on more than just the sharpening to me.

I'll stand by the Trillium as still the Sliciest but I just recently resharpened my Kitchen knife from Nathan the Machinist. That thing got ridiculously sharp! Darn fine slicer in its own right too.

The two one up from the bottom:

Technically my fillet knife is my best slicer.
For carry knives it would be
My sodbuster Jr ( nice thin grind and some major belly to it )
My buck 110
My vic Gardner

The sodbuster Jr WAS my sliciest knife, until yesterday that is.

This imperial jackmaster sent to me by a generous forum member is my new spiciest knife

It may not have as much belly to it, but I'm.sure it'll out slice an opinel.

For kitchen use its the Takeda in AS

Leaving kitchen knives aside, Opinel No. 9 WOULD be the winner of my knives, but I don't give it a lot of love and it's often somewhat dull. On any given day, my best (as long as the cutting medium isn't too deep for it) is probably my HAP40 Dragonfly, which is pretty carefully maintained at 12.5* per side with a 15* microbevel. Just kind of falls through most material.

Yep. Dull knives dont slice as well as well-maintained knives, that's for sure.

WOW Marci, that was deep. Working your way back into GD with caution I see. :p As to slicing, the Mora 2000 is my best non-kitchen fixed and the Chambriard compagnon folder.
