What is your ultimate grail knife?

I have yet to find my Grail Knife but I know the requirements. A blade shaped and sized like an Opinel 8 made of stainless something, a can opener/screwdriver, and a corkscrew, and a small but strong sheepsfoot secondary blade, all on a slip joint frame.

Scales of stabilized burl wood and the shape nice and round or cigar shaped. This is because the juice from an apple seems to always run down the handle if the bolsters are too thin. That Opinel is the only knife I've used that stops the juice and keeps the hand from getting sticky.

Edit: I'd also like an attachment that makes coffee. ;)

As I always say in these threads: the next one. ;)
This is truer than I care to admit. A few weeks ago, I grabbed an Ochs Worx Solarstorm on the exchange for what I still think was a good deal, but way more than I ever thought I’d pay for a knife, but it was the closest thing I’d seen to my grail knife, so totally worth it. After that I told myself, that’s it for awhile now, until I see something I really, really have to have and will use regularly. I’ve bought three more since (nothing anywhere near the Solarstorm), one of which isn’t even here yet, and I’m already looking at my next one. And there’s a list of more after that, which doesn’t include my grail knife, because to my knowledge it doesn’t exist yet. This is some kinda illness.

What would be my ultimate grail knife? I am not sure but I do know I would love to have one of those carbon fiber inlay Mnandi's with a damascus blade. I don't know if that qualifies as an ultimate grail knife or not.
Of course it does my friend! That's one hell of a knife. I'd love to have one too. Even something like a Benchmade Griptilian could be a grail. It's all in the eye of the beholder :)

A ZT0777.

Not really a "grail" knife for me but it's the most expensive of the few ZTs remaining that I'd like to buy to complete my ZT collection.

It's not that I don't have the $ to buy one. It's just that I don't want to spend the $ people are asking for them. And it's actually more readily available than the other less costly ZTs that I'm still looking for.
They made 3 versions correct? I think I have seen 0777s in stonewash/M390, and some in black/M390 and then the other vanax35/Damascus.

I love Zero Tolerance but idk if I could narrow it down to just one grail. There’s the 0392s, 0454, the 0888s etc, and that’s just ZT. I could put a VECP V3, XM-24, Shiro Quantum, and others in the same category.

If I had to choose right this minute, I would go with a Hinderer Eklipse MEFP Wharncliffe. Those are badass looking, and you don’t see many blackwash Hinderers (black dlc, or battle black whatever it’s called lol)

You mean I carry someone’s grail as an EDC?

I personally can’t picture someone having a Griptilian as their grail but to each their own.

I recently watched someone get super excited over a SAK Pioneer.
He told me that he has never owned a SAK before. To me, it was just an extra folder that I was passing on.

Well, I can say that when I first got really interested in knives and started researching them when I started working at a sporting goods shop with a knife counter I kept pulling the BM Griptilian out and fondling it and wishing it was mine. But at that time (Like 2007) I was pretty young and broke and couldn't justify spending that much money on a knife. I think they were $59.99 at our shop then. So yea back then the Grip was my grail knife.

How about grail swords?!?
If money were no object, I would have CPK, Busse, Winkler, BRT, and Walter Brend make me a three piece Katana, Waki, and Tanto set, and a Claymore, Dirk, and Sgian Dubh set.

Nothing old or woody would be safe in my back yard... 😆

The new Damascus Boker lockback, only $560!

I play, but it is a high-end Damascus from a known producer. I just wouldn't do it.

Well, your statement puts things in a different perspective for me.

When you explain it that way, it makes perfect sense. Did you ever get a Griptilian? If so, which one?

:) Yes I did. Actually I've owned a few different Griptilians throughout the years. The only one I still currently have is a Ritter Grip (When Benchmade was still making them instead of Hogue now). It has scales made by Wilkins from Germany. I've had it for about 12-15 years now. I still love it like the day I got it! Haha. I've also been meaning to dye the scales for the past 12-15 years but haven't gotten around to it.

The Ritter Grip is the best they ever offered, IMO. Never have been able to pick one up.

Right now I own four Griptilians.
A regular drop point, a H2O, a Sheepsfoot, and a military issue drop point with a combo edge. Just like a standard black blade combo but it has an NSN # on the blade.

Link says Out of Stock - so someone did... wonder how many they had.

Oh hell yea man, you have the smorgasbord of Grips! Haha. The H20, now there's one that I haven't thought about for many years. That thing;s pretty sweet. How is the edge holding on that H680 blade? That's a steel you don't hear about much.

That thing is sweet. There's a member on here who has one. You've probably already seen it.
