S35VN is a fantastic steel. If it's a letdown, somebody didn't do their job right.

Yes I don’t think Emerson does a great job of heat treat, especially outside of their standard 154CM.

I also wasn't impressed with the fit and finish of my Emersons. The ZT/Emerson collaboration was way better than my 2 Emersons. I really do like the Emerson Wave though. Such a great, but simple idea/design.

Let's see if I can appease the BF photo linking gods by shrinking this one down. Glad to have a pocket knife again! Turns out I really couldn't just convert to fixed blade carry and I needed a 3-4" folder.

EDIT: Guess not, but it's a Hogue RSK2 in Magnacut at RC63 and textured carbon fiber, click through the X for the photo...

I’ve went way beyond toy budget this summer so far, awesome knives make me bad. The maroon version shows how the micarta was milled and tapered pretty well though, it’s thicker at the spine of the knife
