What kind of folder do you carry?

Weird Wednesday, picked up this Quartermaster Knives/ Hawk Knives QTR-10 "General Lee" recently...pretty neat flipper style implementation of the External Toggle Lock design😎

I have a similar Quartermaster, haven't seen that version before. That one is at the other place, I'll have to get a picture later.

The very first time I "toggled" it, I took a chunk out of my thumb closing it. Very neat "space pirate"-feeling mechanism, not super practical.

Probably the QTR-11 version of the General Lee that came later, I mentioned it in the video...I'll probably do a side-by-side video this Sunday.

Is CPK actually going to make a folder? For the most part it seems that companies that make nice fixed blades, make crappy folders and vice versa. Or never make the other…. Ie Busse.

Maybe it would be better if CPK just concentrates on getting the 2025 CHOPPA made👍🏼😎

Nathan I believe has a folder on his whiteboard and has been threatening that his version will be ready in two weeks. Well two weeks has come and gone but it’s the season to have hope and believe 😉👍

Busse made a folder. The Rat Trap.
They didn't actually make it though, if memory serves me it was made by Ontario maybe..? Wasn't very well received and not Infi, but they are collectible now.

I wonder how Nathans folder in D3V would hold up against this Zero in S90v?View attachment 2732253

If Mark's folder is any indication it will be more robust and just as refined. I think the official CPK folder will not have a lot in common with Mark's folder, but he did tell me Nathan had a lot of input in the construction.

I have been regularly carrying Marks folder for over 3 years now and it is among the finest folders I have ever owned and a pure joy to fondle and use.

The beauty of these cheaper, excellent CJRB’s is I use one of these inexpensive sharpeners on them too. Works great and they get razor sharp in a couple pulls.

I’d say don’t use it on a nice knife because they remove a lot of metal.

IF that's one of those carbide scraper "sharpeners"... (I think it is...)

No knife deserves to be shredded by one of those so-called "sharpeners"! :(

Someone did...

...too bad they didn't think of it.

(I just got a chuckle when I noticed the "Made in China" tag below the knife. Nice job, by the way.)

They and me share a lot in common ;) I like a choil.

I think a lot of old school designers/makers are married to the clean line looks of a no-choil edge, I have talked to a few of them about it and it's mainly an argument of form over function.

Funny, I noticed that after the picture too and already cut it off :D Those Midway mag carriers are awesome for knives and about $10-15 each on sale.. at least it's not full of Chinese knives! God forbid I show a Medford next to it... LOL
