What kind of folders do Beckerheads carry...or do they carry them?

Just wondering what kind of folders you guys carry...or if you carry folders at all? I usually just carry my BK11 scout style or in my pocket but apparently after some research of VA conceal and carry laws a fixed blade could be perceived as a weapon regardless of size of blade. Folders however, are considered more in context of tools. Strange I know. Any good folder recommendations?

Pictures would be helpful as well. But I can always google them.

Since I am not permitted to have a fixed blade at work I carry a Spyderco Delica and while at home I keep an old Old Timer Minuteman in my pocket.

I ONLY carry the DPx HEST/F.

Oh... waitasecond...

:o

:D

Seriously, I carry a Case Peanut most of the time. Spyderco Caly III with fair frequency. Spyderco Para once in a while.

spyderco captain my captain mostly

keychain the kershaw scissor/knife

Not an official Beckerhead yet, so I'm not sure if this answer counts :D, but my Vic Farmer gets the most pocket time for me, along with a Vic Classic on my keys. Not particularly sexitacticool, but they do everything I need them to.

Farmer is a good knife. Every time I grab a pack, I have one of these. I'm up to 8 now. It's become a bit of an obsession grabbing them cheap when I can.

new rule: no smoking company logos

ahahahahahahah. god, i hate them

I quit carrying folders, at the exact same time the BK14 came out, so, I have a CS Recon 1 Tanto, a Spydie Dragonfly, Kershaw Leek, Opinel #8, Case Stockman, and a Spydie Endura.

I carry none of them. When I did, it was the Recon 1 and the Case Stockman, before that, it was a Spyderco Duo, Endura/Dragonfly.

Honestly, its just easier and faster for me to grab my BK14. I like fixed blades, and they don't tear up ma jeans.

Anything that strikes my fancy that day but I often end up with a Spyderco Endura. It's so narrow and light that I forget that it's there. Then I open it and see a decent sized slicing blade made of good steel. Good value for the money. Depends on my intent that day. I have gutted and cut the heads off fish to transport home with an old large Manix (forgot fillet knife). And even though my Ka-Bar mule is a heavy weight, I carry it outdoors at times, or in pocket. It is one of those tough\inexpensive blades that you're not afraid to use a bit harshly. If I bust it or lose it, it was low bucks so no tears and for whatever reason, I just really like it... Funny thing about Swiss Army knives. I have a fairly large ''rucksack'' model in bright red. It was on my keychain for a few years and no one made an alarming comment, even though it has a sizable locking blade. They seem to be associated with camping\outdoors and raise lower flags with non users. I have others like a razer sharp Buck 110 that I like but gets zero use, right now. Lately I have been carying a Spyderco Resilience. Another low cost knife that I bought for the company name backing it, and mainly because it has a four inch or 4.25 inch blade. Anyway, now that it is broken it, It's smooth as a babies bum to open and lock engagement is perfect. Another good value for low bucks.

Kershaw Skyline, USA Old Timer small stockman, and Leatherman Kick are on me 99% of my waking hours. Sometimes I also carry a larger folder like my Kershaw JYD II, but most times if I need a larger blade, I grab a fixed blade.

Spyderco seems to be popular...also costing a pretty penny as well. I would carry my BK11 all the time but I'd rather carry something less conspicuous. Anyone carry a leatherman or is that blasphemy?

Yep ive carried a Leatherman E33 Expanse. Im actually planning to do a giveaway with this particular knife sometime in the future.

Other than that i carry Victorinox's, Spyderco, Fallkniven and Boker. Never fixed blades unless im in the woods.

I think the Skyline is one of the most underrated blade out there.. I've had mine for about 13 months to be exact, absolutely cant say enough good things about it..I've put that thing through it bigtime, cut asphalt shingles, lead roof jacks, heavy felt, cardboard, rope, zip ties, things I cant remember its surely a user...

If working construction its my skyline, or persistance.

regular life:) I use a few Delica's (my personal favorite pocket knife)
or on occasion I carry a 1970 Puma Junior slippy..

oh, and lately a sog flashII..

oh, oh, but mostly I carry a hest so the pocket knife thing kinda comes and goes nowadays...................................

oh, oh, oh.. izzy on the neck,

oh, oh, oh, oh... coming sooooooon..... bk14 on the neck once I get around to the hobby store.. I have some ideas.........:p

oh, oh, oh, oh, oh....... always a vic sak classic on the keys.... and a leatherman juice on the belt..........................................................................

I love my Skyline. It's not the best or fanciest blade, but it is a great product. Mine is one of the older ones in 13c26 steel. I do wish that the blade on mine was a bit harder on the RC scale. I believe it's treated to 55/56 RC. I'd like it to be around 58/59RC.

I'd like to get on in 14c28n to compare the two.

I'm not sure what the steel is but its the 1760 made in Jan '09.. its strong enough for me, I take 220 grit on the belt to it and call it good........ has a nice bite for rope. Wished I would've picked up a couple at the local WM they closed them out for $25:eek:..................

Probably one of the best (abuser) pocket knives I've ever owned..

i always have my izzy 2( may be replaced once i get a bk14) but i normally have a folder clipped to my pocket to. spyderco tenacious a lot of the time, benchmade griptilian when i dont. used to edc a buck vantage, but gave it to a good friend. now im looking hard at a benchmade 940, or the new esee-3 folder....

I usually carry a Buck 110, guess i'm kind of old fashioned like that :)

Re: the Cowboy Killer logo. I'm not an endorser. It's just the only way that particular Victorinox was offered--as part of an endorsement offer. Frankly, the Victorinox and Marlboro union kind of surprises me. There are several other Victorinox/Marlboro models that were made, but the Outdoorsman is the one I like as far as the tools. To add, I hate smoking too. Both my parents smoked; my mom still suffers from it. But the logo itself doesn't haunt me too much. I've read that the logo will come off pretty easily if you like the knife but not the symbol.

Lately, my work folder that I beat up is an older Spyderco Delica. In Dec. last year I got an Emerson Commander and I am in love with it. I have also been carrying a Spyderco Endura as well.
