What kind of Knife would you expect a Knife Shop owner to personally carry?

The thread title says it all. If you walk in a knife shop that carries everything from high to low end, what would you expect/think the owner would be carrying?

I would expect something of at least the production high-end level. Being able to test out a large variety of models without commitment would allow one to discern a true favorite among all that is offered.

Probably a high end folder, maybe a sebenza for the class or possibly a nice zt, something along those lines. I would hope he carried a GEC stockman but that doesn't seem a very common carry for many folks.

A gun.

A nice custom two blade traditional probably with bolsters rather than without. Nothing loud. Understated but certainly quality. Probably not the latest trend in locks or steels. :)

@cutchuWhy not combine? He's carrying a ballistic knife :D aaaah, my jokes are getting worse by the second, I'll leave now...:D

I help out allot with a knife dealer and at shows we both carry Striders. Occasionally I will carry my MSC.

I was in a shop in Delaware I believe, on a trip to Virginia Beach a few months ago. Willey Knives, great folks, beautiful shop, had everything. Owners son, young man, mid to late twenties was caring and very much in love w/ (at that particular moment, anyway) a Benchmade 940-1.

A different one in every pocket! My local pusher always has an assortment of production and custom folders on him and sometimes even a custom fixed blade on his belt.

Something personalized. Shop owners should know their stuff. They should know that there are great budget knives and bad custom knives, bad budget knives and great custom knives. The last thing I want him to carry, is some over-hyped folder with bad QC, because it's the cool thing to have. I want the shop owner to be an enthusiast, not a salesman.
