What knife are ya carrying most these days ?

I've been carrying BRKT's Wet Enviro which is showing to be a great blade...Emerson CQC-8, Spyderco Paramil and Fallkniven's U2 plus my Swiss Spirit:

my main EDC knife is a benchmade mini-griptillian... i sometimes switch that one up for my scibeer custom farmer...:)

as for knives in the woods, i have been carrying/using my Breeden Tyson bushcrafter a lot lately.... i love this knife... such a perfect design for most camp/woods chores...

My absolutely most reached for EDC is no question my Caly3 ZDP/420 laminate.

When I need something bigger mostly I grab the very very nice Rosarms SN Bayonet.
It is the one on the left in the photo and is very sharp with the slight hollow grind and much better for delicate work than you would guess from it's size.
I even used it for cutting packing tape and wrapping paper for sending stuff in the post.

Sometimes when I want to wear a knife on my belt but not something as big as the Rosarms i will use the Skookum.

Hi Rock - your the first I've seen to mention the wet enviro recon. Glad you like it so much. Maybe you could give us a review sometime. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like BRKT will be putting this one into production - or at least there is some kind of delay of it. I noticed that KSF cleared their stock of prototypes just last month.

i have been carrying my large Case stockman again for the last several weeks but about a week ago a certain fellow dropped off a box of blades to sharpen and told me that i could keep this nice old trapper with very thin edges and nice darkly patina'd blades. nice jigged bone scales. i have been carrying that since i sharpened it up a few days ago.

i might start carrying the GEC pioneer trapper again in a few days...gotta see how i feel.

oh and i often also wear my BRKT mikro canadian in my left armpit with a figure 8 paracord rig (for single hand access with either hand) and my BRKT nebula on my right hip.

Okay, i hate to break up the party, but i highly doubt that most of you people actually carry these knifes as an EDC. and if you do what is the point? the blades are all shinny, Never been used and looking like a bunch of safety queens. and i highly doubt that some of those GIANT pieces of Infi are a EDC, where the hell are you going to carry that? and what do you do on a day to day to need 12 inches of indestructible steel?

You know what my EDC is? a cheap as dirt Camp America knife. I paid 10 bucks and is made out of cheap 440 and some even cheaper plastic, but i am a practical man, i don't need a Sword to get through my day. so lets stop the D**k swinging contest of whose shinny knife is bigger and show some real EDC's please. thank you for hearing my rant
it was meant to offend at lease some of you guys and for that i am not sorry.

here is the ugly ducking i call an EDC's

I'm not saying that an EDC has to be cheap, i'm just saying that if the knife looks newer than when you bought it... your probably lying about carrying it everyday.

thank you

Your spelling and grammar are almost as offensive as your content.

BTW... I carried my Busse BAD all day again today. I'm sure you "highly doubt" it, whatever that means.

I take photos of my knives when I buy them. Almost any photo I post of a knife shows it as new. I'm sure that is the case with many of the people posting photos in this thread.

Stay sharp,
desmobob

Well that was just uncalled for, Sharp newbie. Some people take pride in keeping their blades looking good, and clean them up before taking pics, or are posting older pics. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, of course, but have a little courtesy.

Yup, you caught me out bro, I never use my knives, in fact I never go anywhere to use them....guess I'm just a homebird !!!;)

sharp newbie,

Since this is the Wilderness and Survival forum, I believe the OP was asking what we carrying in the woods now days, hence the bigger knives.

In response to Sharp(?)Newbie...

The correct spelling is S-H-I-N-Y, and some of us use a lot of Flitz to keep them that way. It's Safe Queens and I hope that one of us are around when your $10 p.o.s. breaks on you as opposed to our "indestructible" blades. Have a nice day.

For folders, my Vic Farmer gets the top spot easily. I rotate other clipped folders (Spydercos) with it, but the farmer is almost always in my pocket. Rotate it occasionally with a GEC Trapper, which is a really neat little knife.

For fixed blades, my Breeden Peacemaker has easily taken the top spot. In most situations where I use a fixed blade, lately it's been that knife almost exclusively. Wearing it right now, in fact.

The only times I don't carry it are when I am fishing at certain places in or near the big city and during large group cookouts/bbqs and similar events. In that situation, I usually carry my DP Knives... uh... think it's a Sidekick. It's a very handy little knife that doesn't have the size factor of the Breeden and it is quite classy with the buffalo horn/synthetic handles.

DUDE.....THere's no reason to come in here and be ants at the picnic, everyone's welcome.. but we're tight knit here, you are welcome to express your opinions but diplomacy in doing so is clutch if you desire to share and learn knowledge as a result of your tenure here. If you want to make friends probably throwing stones, and admitting you are trying to offend people is not the best policy, if you aren't trying to make friends..than maybe you should reconsider your motives for participating in an online community. Either way I hope you stick around and participate, if you can do so in a less antagonistic manner cause I'm sure we can learn a thing or 2 from you, and who knows you might learn a thing or 2 and make some busse carrying friends as well.

I kind of assumed it was an edc thread as well. Everyone here knows that I like both cheap knives and quality knives, and have tried alot of different ones out in my quest...as mentioned earlier my current edc is my spyderco delica 4. If I could mac wearing a small fixed blade in my area I would..but as is I'd end up beinbg hassled constantly by LEO's if I was going to spend 10 dollars on an edc.. It' be on an opinel# 8 above anything else...If we're talking about woods running..I use my 12 inch tram and a mora clipper or or one of my neckers....

Wow, that kind of ruined the Zen I was feeling reading through this thread.

My EDC is my Spyderco Manix in FG. I sometimes carry a Victronix SAK of some variety. When I am out of town doing my thing it is usually a Busse.

I carry my Benchmade 710BKD2 most days and in between shifts my 913D2 Nitrous Stryker fills in as backup.

well like, everyone else, I've used my grip everyday, and know that it was made by knife lovers in the us, and used by a knife lover in canada is what makes the diffrence. When you crap breaks, and fails on you my grip will be laughin!

:D, did I offend? aww I feel so bad.

And to this, NO.
I take care of my knife, and it still looks fine, your looks like shit, and was propably bought that way.:p:D
