Personally I received and gave several knifes as X’mas gifts in the past years, and I don't think I will get tired of this, I bet you all also know the crush on them. So what kind of knifes will you guys expect to have or give

I usually gift myself a new knife each December (Christmas). Have not decided yet which one. I have given knives for Christmas in the past, but probably not this year. Basically the family members that I would give to have grown up and to make an impact, it would take more "knife" than I am willing to give.

My wife is getting me a benchmade of my choice.(haven't decided which one yet)
I am giving my kids SAKs.
My brother in law is getting a fixed blade.

Whatever knife that I buy for myself! There's no other way I'm getting one, LOL.

I don't plan on buying any knives for quite awhile. I'm set, for myself.

That said if any dealers have sales on BK14/11's or kabar fillet knives through the holidays will probably gift some more out. Have been instructed to not gift some people anymore knives,:D So I'm running out of people to gift them too.:o

if could receive a knife from family members in Dec, I can say that's the sweetest thing

Bought SAKS for my 3 nieces in each of their favourite colours pink, purple and green. They are 10, 8 and 5.
Opinel No.8 with oak handle deer engraved handles for my hunting partner(trout for myself).
I'm pretty sure my wife will get me a knife but I don't know what. It's always a surprise and it's one that I have talked about...that's when I realized how much I talk about knives and imaginary wishlists...and she actually pays attention

I bought myself a Victorinox recruit for Christmas on Thursday
I normally switch it up every week ,but I think I'm gonna have to keep this one in my pocket till new year's.

A couple of alox SAK Pioneers on p-7 suspension clips for my close friends. A HOB exclusive Kershaw Link in s35vn blue/blackwash for my brother in law.

That's all at the moment. I'm sure I'll think of more, though. LOL

If you were a family member and your "needs" weren't too significant, I would be more than happy to gift a knife for Christmas. At this point in my family, it would take a $400 or $500 knife for them to "appreciate it". That is too rich for me. My own needs aren't that elevated. I appreciate SAKs and lower priced knives just fine. I am much more content just carrying an extra when with family and if the situation hints that a particular knife would be appreciated, I do it. Christmas is more formal for grown ups.

My 14 yr.old son is getting an S30V Cabelas Buck Vanguard he had his eyes on.:)
Dad ( me) just bought himself an early present :D Two Bark River Bravo 1.25's in 3V

We'll be eating KD for Christmas , but we have steel. :p

The Cabelas Buck Vanguard (Alaskan Guide Series) is a good hunting knife and one I recommend often. I checked it out after it being recommended here on BF and I liked it. It was also (I believe) my very first visit to a Cabelas store.
