What knife do you hate the most?

:thumbup: Gotta love those pictures of completely unblemished, unscratched, totally pristine looking knives that the owner claims are their heavy duty EDC's :D
A lot of users only take pics when a knife is new to show off their new knife here on the boards. Most don't feel the need to take new pics after the knife is used a bit just to prove to us it has been used. I agree though, there are a lot of safe queens out there.

I post user pics. I own 6 knives, not counting stuff out for mods and customs (Reese, Demko, DDR) and they are all users.

Anything dubbed "tactical"
I've got a couple tacticals, various brands, and the most demanding thing I've used them for is opening MREs
Could have used a much cheaper knife for that task!

Skulls painted on knives and skulls on lanyards. Dont care for combo edges, one way or the otehr please..

The Manix 2, which is a jimped up, tarted up, stunted version of the real McCoy, with a cancerous plastic wart slapped on for the final insult.

I strongly dislike partial serrations. I also hate kabar usmc, I know it's not a bad knife I just hate the look, ergonomics, size, there is nothing about the knife that appeals to me.

While 'hate' is a strong word, the knife I was most disappointed with is the Kershaw Leek  . I like almost everything about the knife itself: size, weight, ergonomics, and awesome blade shape. There are a lot of good things going on with the Leek, but it has a few fatal flaws, in my opinion.

First of all, it carries like a wet dog turd. Since this knife is an A/O and has no detent, I’d say tip up is the only sensible way to go with this knife, and in this configuration, 1 ¼” of the 4” handle sticks up out of the pocket. Not too secure and flops around like a flag in a strong wind unless you’re wearing pants tighter than Steven Tyler’s. The clip sucks as well. Buying a custom clip for this knife would only increase the cost to the point where there are much better options to be had. Again, just my opinion.

I'd consider tossing the clip and just dropping it loose in the pocket, but the lack of detent and A/O both combine to make this a potentially dangerous venture. If I wanted a vasectomy then I’d see a doctor, thankyouverymuch. Sure, there is a safety: a little piece of plastic that covers the very tip of the blade-in-handle (a very fine and delicate needle-like tip that would eventually either snap off or be sharpened out of existence and render the safety useless.) And how would the coated metal handle hold up against the keys, coins and other pocketed items? Probably not very well.

I wanted to love this knife, and probably would have if it had been a manual locking folder… or even a slip-joint! Oh well. The Kershaw Leek just isn’t my thing and I’ve decided not to keep it in my stable. :thumbdn::grumpy::thumbdn:

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent! I feel much better! :D

Hey man, Kershaw makes a knife called the Centofante that is very similar to the Leek, but it is is NOT assisted opening.

I hate my M-Tech folder, bought out of stupidity a long time ago.

I'll look into it, fer sher!

I really regret hesitating on Spyderco's Cento 4... hard to come by these days... :(

I hear you timber.... I loved my Leek for a short while but I never carry it any more for many of the reasons that you've mentioned.
