What knife do you keep by your bed? !!Pics!!

I do! mine is and ontario made Ranger shiv!

Perhaps not the response you are looking for, but I seem to move around and do stuff when I am asleep. Rather often, things are not where I left them before retiring for the night. So , i don't keep a gun or a knife close to my bed. I kinda creep myself out that way.

I keep an SOG Pentagon in the nightstand next to the bed. Not too large, solid, good grip, double edge (one side plain edge one side serrated), fixed blade. I'd consider it a good self defense dagger.

I keep a Swamp Rat Rodent Waki on my side. My wife keeps a Spyderco/Hossom Forrester on her side.

SOG Seal Pup and a Surefire L4, though it is not my go-to choice for self defense in the middle of the night. I keep a 2 ft steel prybar next to the bed. Knives are too messy and there is always the possibility of injuring yourself in the melee.

Hmm... I also dont keep a knife within reach of the bed, but the closest would be a Combat Elite 3G on the dresser where I put it when I change, or the Extrema Ratio Kukri in the top drawer of said dresser. All my other knives are in my desk.

The only time I have a knife by the bed is if it's new and I've been playing with it. I dump all my EDC stuff (wallet, keys and knives) on the kitchen table or by the front door.

I don't really see the need for a knife by the bed... I like to wake up with all my blood on the inside.

Same thing with the guns... they live unloaded, locked up in the closet.

In the event of an intruder, they'd have to make it past a very loud, temperamental Siamese cat with claws sharper than any knife on the planet who doesn't like to be awakened from a deep sleep.

Not sure why I do, but I have a couple on a dresser not far from my bed. These have both been shown in the forced patina thread in M&T:

Just a little further from the bed are a bunch of swords standing on end, and an Igorot "headhunting" axe.

Probably more of a storage choice than a security choice. One that would likely creep out many a dame.
