What knife have you put off buying?

I have wanted to put in an order for a Randall model 14 and a Martin Knives hollow handle for a while now. That being said I have probably thought about every knife I have bought for the last 5 years for a solid year

For me it was high end productions in the 3-5 hundred range, Striders, CRK, ect. Although I would love a sebbie or zaan, i just could never justify the price. That being said a month ago I picked up a 0452cf, love it, perfect f&f. Then 2 weeks ago the stars aligned and got myself a John Gray Thuck as my first custom. And Last week I got a 0450 and i condsider it my little sebenza killer and once i blast it, it will be lol.

I've put off all Chris Reeve knives for years but 2 days ago I folded and bought a Umnumzaan.

Also, any Shirogorov, I love them so much that I feel I would never want to use any of them if I pick one up.

I was hoping I'd be the first one, but comeuppance beat me to it. Believe it or not, an Opinel. Even though it's so cheap, I just can't get over the two hand opening and it makes me hesitate every time I want to get it.

There have been countless knives on my "next to buy" list that I never bought. Recent examples being the Spyderco Rubicon and the ZT 0562CF. CRK are always on my list, but never pulled the trigger...

The ZT 0452CF. But it arrives today 😁.

Busse Battle Mistress. I keep hearing how dull they come, and no edge bevel thickness figure...

Gaston

For me its a 2nd Busse TGLB, I need a second before they are out of production....and a Custom...I have zero customs but I find I am constantly drooling over several offered here by various makers....also about anything in Elmax, as I have still not tried it out.

Not expensive at all and I'll eventually get both but for me it's the BK9 and the BK4/machax. I really want them both but I keep putting them off because I can't see me actually using them.

I'm a poor excuse of a knife guy and struggle spending money on things I may not be using very often. These blades are primarily known to be great for chopping and batoning. Neither of which I do because ... never mind. Putting the can of worms away. Suffice it to say that because I don't baton, these knives don't do anything my current fixed blades don't already do.... but I really want them ;-)

I always wanted to try a Rat 1 or 2, just never got around to it. Really have no excuse as I buy knives that cost over 10x what a Rat goes for. I would also have to put ZT (any model) in here too. Love Kershaw and the ZTs are very appealing to me but my Spydie collection continues to grow and grow. Next purchase for me will be a ZT, (I say that now).

Surprisingly, I've held off on buying a spyderco delica. I have the pm2, and got it for 90. I don't think that the 50 dollar delica is worth the price. I'll probably get it soon though. Other than that I've held off on the cold steel American lawman and the code 4

I am not buying any right now.Tried my hand at making a few recently.
I still want many more but cant justify it right now.
On my list are...
a Hudson Bay style knife (Condor maybe)
a Gerber Strong Arm
a Shrade SCHF42
a Shrade SCHF36
a Bravo 1 from Bark River
a Buck 112 Ranger
a loveless style hunter
an Opinel #6 (mine went walking and never came back)

Hinderer XM-18 3.0". I really wanted to try one out but at the point my interest was piqued, they were going for $600 plus on the secondary market. There was no way I was going to pay that kind of money for a Hinderer, so I bought a Kevin John clone instead. When I did, I made myself a promise that if I could ever get my hands on a real XM-18 3.0" at MSRP, I'd buy it and throw the clone away. Two things happened that made me change my mind. First, my tastes changed and second, the clone was so darn well-made that I lost my desire to replace it. I'm not a lover of clones, so to this day the KJ is the only one I ever bought and more than likely the only one I ever will.

ZT 0450. Now here's a knife that's right in my wheelhouse. I like practically everything about it but it just never hit a critical mass with me. Part of the problem was that I bought a ZT 0770CF earlier this year and it slaked my thirst for a ZT product. But what really put it on the back burner was the new Kizer Tomcat Splinter. I had purchased a Kizer 3404A3 previously and I was impressed with Kizer quality. So I bought a Splinter just as soon as I became aware that it was available. It definitely hit the lightweight S35VN/Ti sweet spot for me at a considerable saving over the ZT 0450.

Boker Urban Trapper. Here's another knife that has a lot of appeal to me. I didn't react when it first came out. It just looked a little too fragile to me and I didn't trust that it would flip open reliably. But the new Carbon Fiber version definitely has my attention.

Rockstead...because I can't come to grips with the price.
Sebenza......because I don't understand the difference between the Large 21 and 25.

Ughhhh, sebenza 21 and a strider sng...money....never handled either. hard to justify buying without holding first...

I'm holding off on the Beer Scout in hopes a stainless steel model shows up. As great as 1095 is, the knife will have a permanent spot in my pocket and sooner or later it will get rusty. I don't like patina, nothing against it just a matter of taste,if steel doesn't shine it needs polished. I can see myself spending hours keeping the shine on the present Beer Scout.
