The knives that do this the most for me tend to be Bucks and Spydercos. I've always seen Cold Steel's knives as purpose-built martial arts/tactical tools, despite how "goofy" they look to some. Make no mistake, those knives are meant to do a job before all else.
Today I'm carrying one of the only two knives I own that I consider tacticool, and I bought it not because I needed it, but because it does indeed make me smile:
I just like the way it feels, cuts, and, surprisingly to me, looks. Buck really tried to make a sturdy, all-steel folder as light as they could, and I think they did a good job. Rides really well in the pocket, super thin, and I really like the unique way they did the lanyard hole.
