What knife just makes you smile?

Swisschamp.
Ultimate fulfillment of all my childhood MacGyver ambitions (grew up as a kid in the 1980s ;) ).

Since there is a lot of Cold Steel going on here, I'll admit it:

My latest smile knife is a CS Ti-Lite IV I bought a while back....once I got over my long-held and stupid belief that Cold Steels were POS.

Probably the most fun-to-flick knife I ever owned. Great knife. I like my Ti-Lite VI too, but the IV is sooo much more fun to play with.

That is a really fun knife to flick. I'm super happy with mine now that I put a good edge on it. Unfortunately, I don't really like to flick mine too much since I'm concerned the titanium lock might wear a little quicker.

My Victorinox Explorer. The thing's got a magnifying glass on it!

But really, I usually smile when I grab any knife off the shelf in the morning.

This one - My Thorburn L42 flipper -

It flips so effortlessly and with such a solid snap that I smile every time I deploy the blade. Plus - it's a pretty knife and flawlessly built. If I could only keep one (folder) it would be this one. My one keeper fixed blade is pretty sweet too - in a very rugged and manly way :D

My Svord mini Peasant makes me happy. It's lightweight, strong, cuts well, is fun to open and close. I wish I had more room in my pocket to carry it every day.

That's a beauty, Kwon. I don't blame you for that. Is the lock exactly the same as the newer ones? AUS8 ? I can't remember what steel was in the first ones.

The lock is exactly the same, save for materials. The blade steel is VG-1...was not fun to reprofile to 40° inclusive (previous owner dulled the edge to almost butter knife levels) with medium stones.

Like my Cold Steel too. The Ti-Lite VI is like a pocket rapier.

Sure a nice one. Is the lockup getting late or something...is that why the concern?

Ever wish it had a lanyard hole? :)

I assume the newer (XHP) IV's have bronze bearings like my newer VI. Correct?

I've been waiting to get a IV in XHP because I like the look of a satin blade more than bead blast in the IV. I hope they eventually offer a satin or polished IV. For me it keeps it truer to the originals way back when.

If they'd only give me a damn lanyard hole....

I'm looking at that one right now at one of my local brick-and-mortars. If I could ever bond with a Sebenza I'd probably have purchased it. Nice.

I'm surprised you found one - you almost never see them. I'd snatch it up! Here's another look at mine:

I have a few others, but when you see your own design in steel - that's a treat.
