What knife made you say "I don't really need any more"?

after i got a good folder and a good fixed blade. I did not "need" any more, but then i said i want more and that generally overrides need, hence all the luxeries people have

Umnumzaan did it for me in the folder department, and a Basic 7 by Busse as a fixed blade.
I still enjoy looking at what people post on those boards, but I have not had an urge to buy another knife since I've gotten those two.

99% of the time you only need one knife. But, this is Blade Forums, tell me who here joined because they were really
done with knives. Come on, an alcoholic doesn't go to a bar to quit drinking. :p

There have been quite a few that made me say that. The important thing is not to listen when that happens.

+100 on both of these! :D

I don't need any more than my SAK Farmer or Huntsman. But what fun is that? This is Bladeforums, after all!

I still want more knives but they all have to meet one important criteria. I USE them :D
The Manix2 moonglow made me realize I don't want knives that I don't use.
Sentimental pieces/heirlooms excluded

It was when I got 3 knives all in one day from 3 different places. I got a benchmade mini grip at clothing and sales, a spyderco endura at the px, and when i checked my mail, there was a combative edge M1. I am at a point where my M1, Para 2, 0650, Rogue, EX-01, RAM, Mini-grip, Triage, M16-14sfg, 707 sequel, OD-1, ESEE 4, and Endura are enough to last me. Those are the ones I just have with me over here in Korea. I still have 2 blurs, a Grip and Mini-grip, 2 crkt somethins, and a few kershaw somethins. I have all of my bases covered and I am happy with most of my knives. Am I gonna stop getting them? No. But I am going to stop getting 3 in one day! I was carrying around 5 knives for about 10 minutes (barrage and spyderco were in the bag, i had my 707 and rogue in my pocket, and the M1 was in a box)

The day that happens
will be the same day I get tired
of a Chick with a great rack,
anit happening

It's just the guilt talking.. "This one is it, I'm completely satisfied with this one knife". Yea right you'll place an order or be trading around again in no more than a couple months at most. :)

If it happened so easily, this wouldn't be such a costly addiction:D. My custom Nirk Tighe in M390 was supposed to end it for me, but I didn't much care for the two-hand closing of the knife, plus the milled titanium kind of backfired in that it feels "weird" when combined with the stonewashed handles. While I know it won't slip out of my hands, it constantly feels like it will.

I think the Sebenza was quite close, though I didn't like how "draggy" it feels when opening and closing, which I suspect is caused by the sandblasted titanium. Plus it felt a touch too short. I liked my BM 710-1 quite a bit, though I didn't care for the sandpaper textured handles or the Axis lock, of which I suspect any titanium liner lock would far outlast the omega springs, and I hear Benchmade doesn't send out spare springs.

I'm hoping that the John W. Smith SD-3 4.5" folder in S35VN and Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber will scratch my itch this time, but we all know how that turns out;).

When I got my Large Sebenza 21. After having it in my hand for only a few minutes, I realized that there was no reason to get all the other knives I had on my list. Of course, I have since gotten some more knives. But if I had to sell all but one of my folders, the Large Seb is the one I would keep.

My pm2 camo/dlc held me off the longest before buying another knife. Then pre-ordered an m390/blue one, after getting that one pre-ordered an xhp/orange, now there's also a 204p/green pre-ordered........

The Sebenza.

But then there where a small Sebenza, a classic, a Mnandi, the micarta inlay, the one with the dog paws........

;)

I know that I don't need another knife in the four inch category after getting my little ESEE 4. But I can promise you that I WILL be getting some of those new mid sized Beckers 15,16,17 or whatever, when they are out. I MUST get them.
