What knife would you carry if fighting in Ukraine?

The S35VN Endura is the "Nutnfancy" edition: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/de...ndura-reg-4-Blue-FRN-CPM-S35VN-Exclusive/2232

Nutnfancy is a knife/gun reviewing Youtuber. I have never watched his stuff (and never will), but I love the Endura and get another one any time they come out with a new steel variant.

So that's the explanation for the "nothing fancy" joke. A lame one I know!

I'm the same, but with the Delica. The NFP Delica is the only one offered in S35vn, and I need to get around to picking one up.

Well, the 1st thing that occurs to me is the old saying: "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight." ;)

Is there a lot of hand-to-hand combat in the war in Ukraine or would a Gerber mutli-tool do?

Assuming, of course, that you've still got a Kalashnikov and a side arm and don't need a knife to kill someone with.

Do they make bayonets for Kalashnikovs? If so, that would be my 1st choice. LOL! 🤣

The Bible ~ Sharper than any two-edged Sword ~ and this would be sent to both sides Russia and Ukraine, Brothers and Sisters "Neighbors and Kinfolks divided against one another" and forced into fighting against one another ~ So maybe then they'll all see the light, that it isn't each of them, who are their adversary, but he who is in power over them ~ 🕯️
That's not going to cut anything very well.

As a regular troop probably a Leatherman Wave. It’s very utilitarian. And I’d probably have a Buck 119 for heavier cutting chores and a just in case I need it.

I have visited with several men who were in the war zones including my dad and uncle’s. Most of these men were infantry, artillery or regular grunts. None of them had any hand to hand fights, their fighting was always a firearm, grenades or artillery at a distance. They mostly had folding pocket knives or a paring knife .
I’m sure there are others who did have hand to hand fights like the tunnel rats in Vietnam. I guess I did know one guy I worked with that was a tunnel rat but he didn’t talk about it. One other that drove a truck for my brother was a special ops also in Vietnam. He didn’t talk much about it either. These guys were specially trained and not of the regular troops. In this case they had many combat resources they were trained for besides a knife.

This sword, but it has to include this armor. Otherwise, I'm staying home for the next God of War and waiting for mom to bring me meatloaf.

Saw a video of sharpened shovels being used as their multitool, slick lil spade.

Me myself, knife-wise, I would take a Leatherman Wave or Wingman, hopefully something that works on firearms, a very light SAK like a 58mm Rambler or Minichamp at the bottom of a pocket or pack, as a main knife, maybe a Spyderco PM2, Military 2, Stretch 2, Police 4, Native Chief, something like that, waved, and my Ontario SP-1 or Cold Steel SRK in 3V, would be even better if it could act as a bayonet (a spear is better than a knife in combat, no?). Basically, want a big, long, strong, tough blade. Would also be cool to have an Espada XL as a backup, very thin and longer than the knives mentioned...but would likely be too heavy.

Leatherman Wave.
I once read that edged weapons accounted for a tiny fraction of the casualties in the U.S. Civil War. I suspect firearms have improved a bit since then. ;) And given that needing a "combat knife" in war zone means two modern firearms have failed (yours and his), I wouldn't even bother toting around a big fixed blade. IF I wanted a larger blade, I might add a Spyderco Endura, serrated.

One that would bring you lots of luck cause you would need it.

Good luck if your Black or Chinese and you want to board a bus going out. I am not sure whether the Russians would treat them better or not. Then there is Brittney Griner.

I say a Swiss army knife with a can opener may help you eat.
Brittney Griner would not have had a problem if she had simply obeyed the laws of the country she was visiting. Although her general lack of courtesy may have made things worse.

Decent movie, considering I am NOT a big Tom Cruise fan......

I believe that is not actually a sword, but a tail rotor blade from one of downed the transport drop-ships that the "full metal bitch" scavenges for a make-shift (but effective) weapon.
