What knife would you use in a survival scenario?

If you were in a 72 hr+ off grid survival scenario what one knife would you trust to fill the role of a survival knife? To make kindling, to prepare food, make a spear, make a shelter or to battle a zombie (just kidding with that last part). I personally would trust the TOPS silent hero. Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

I don't think I'd survive 72 minutes with that thing.... :)

I have butter knives that would give me a better chance of survival.
I'm not saying it's a good knife, but you might be surprised by how much you can do with one. When I was a regular on BCUSA, some of the guys there would document doing some impressive work with a Bear Grylls knife, serrations and all.

I'd use my 16" SOG kukri. Given all possible conditions for a 72-hour survival trial, it fots the bill for most of them. Hardly ever a call to cut stone of cement, just wood and meat, and maybe a striker for a ferrite. Gets your shelter done in no time, cuts through forest and jungle brush and bush, makes a pretty fair ax. Works as a skinner. It's already in my survival bag, along with a Victorinox S54. Pocket knives aren't very good for overall survival, but a multitool can help. You also can really use shovel, or you'll end up digging with your knife, which is such a drag, for both you and your knife.

I have the plastic handle version.

She gave a high dollar survivalknife a good beating, and it didn't hold up as well as her cheap AUS8 Coldsteel.
I too was critical of her Fällkniven video, but in all fairness with her abusepattern, the Coldsteel did better. What's not to like?
When I saw her pry muscles off the rock with the knife tip, which essentially destroyed the edge and then gave it a bad review I just couldn't get behind her assessment or style of use
It is okay if our opinions don't align

Don't get me wrong, I found the way she used the knife to be very careless.
However, the average Joe/Jane knifeuser does the same things.
Hand my wife a knife, and leave her unattended to 30 minutes, and the knife is in ruins.
Therefore, I would much rather hand her an AUS8 Coldsteel than a Fällkniven.

So the question is about 1 knife to have, right? I assume that it is a dedicated knife.

I would consider all of the pocket multi-tools to be tools rather than actual knife, since they are replace a whole toolkit, and not merely a knife. Even if their knife break, the tools are still valuable.

For the design, weight and quality, I really like the Eickhorn Forestier II. Though at over 200$, it is as expensive as a SKR 3V for merely 1.4110 steel blade. Good steel, used in SAK and many European knives, but not at that price. That's what you pay for the high wage country though...
