What knives are on your radar for 2009?

On my radar for this year is a Spyderco Stretch II and either a Spyderco bushcraft or Koster 3rd Gen bushcraft. I would like to get both bushcraft knives, then sell the one I like less, but that may not be in the budget.

I've got a JK Baby Kephart on order for delivery in a couple of weeks. A Breeden Tyson Bushcraft would be nice or a BRKT Gunny (maybe both?). :D

I never thought I would be saying this, but after a very kind loan I am focusing on a Busse CG Fusion Battle Mistress.

Kinda like to a get a gransfors burks hatchet. Maybe a SAK farmer.

Not many. I'm really going to try and dedicate 2009 to using what I own, making sheaths for a lot of them, evaluating current knives and paring some of the excess, and enjoying more time outdoors rather than online.

That said, I am looking at some fixed blades for kayaking, maybe the Benchmade H20. I also would like to see the SAR4 from Busse come out.

The most machete-like Busse to date has been the latest iteration of the Busse Battle Mistress--the NM FBM CG (Nuclear Meltdown Fusion Battle Mistress Combat Grade... say that three times fast). Here are some pics for you.

NM FBM CG is the next to last (second from the right).

Yes, after a bit of research this is pretty much what I came up with...but spending $500 US on a knife (plus sheath) is a little outside my usual range so I think that might have to wait for now!

A few more Laconicos, NWA knife, brian andrews modified axe, Koyote pig knife, gossman tusker, RC5, and a kick ass wharny from PML(almost done)
I also am gonna get me a Chris Reeve professional soldier at some point.

With an axe on the way and the arrival of my Busse LE SFNO, (in the middle in the picture) I have nearly all the knives I need

However, I still would like to try a Fallkniven TK2, something nice with a scandi grind like a briangandrews bushcrafter, I need a machete and a BRKT golok... I wonder what Busse is going to do next...

So, I have nearly all the knives I need!

I might actually try to make one or two myself on my little belt grinder.

On my list right now

1.BRK&T H&C forum knife (I really like the handle and blade combo on this knife)

2. Fiddleback Woodsman

3. A scandi bushcraft knife ( I haven't decided which one yet. I hope to get to handle a few before making a decision)

  1. ROSarms Kukri
  2. Busse Khukri
  3. BRKT Khukri

Oh, and a Fiddleback Woodsman is being made for me now.

I am hoping to trade my coco Mnandi for a large coco Sebenza classic, that I was the former owner of, at the Timonium gun show tomorrow. Also hoping to trade into an LT Wright custom and Workhorse.

Picking up my Kephart and mini Kephart from Scott Gossman sometime this month. Would like to get a BHK Bushcrafter and order a ML Kephart.

Lots more on the list, but that should keep me busy for a long time.

thats about the best looking knife i have ever seen. bet that one set you back a bit though.

It will set me back quite a bit. Luckily it should be done around the time I get my tax return. His prices are actually very reasonable. Options like keeping the forge scale or matte polish or high polish don't alter the cost of the knife at all. Same with the brass bolster I am having him add.

I'm getting a Koyote piggyback set...I just need to finalize the details...I need to make up my mind on what I want!
If I don't get it before my deployment in July...it will definately be after it!!!
