What knives do you/have you given as gifts?

I gifted one of my cousins/brother a father/son set of benchmade slipjoints with their names engraved on the knife that he really appreciated, I told him to carry and use it and not let it just be a display thing and to one day have his son do the same with his. I've gifted blur's, mini griptillians, - which he carries and uses, SAK's that my dad and fiance both carry and use, isham bladeworks slipjoint and some other knives including kitchen knives. Honestly depending on who it is and their capacity to use the knife is what determines the level of knife I purchase or giveaway. I find knives to be great tools and if I know a person will carry and use a knife I won't hesitate finding a reason to gift them one eventually haha especially since it's a tool that will be used countless times, it's a cool feeling for me to know a gift I gave someone is appreciated and used often. I gifted one of my other cousins a tactileturn pen with his name engraved on it and he always carries it on his person and uses it daily. I can't explain the satisfaction that brings me lol

When Great Eastern Cutlery released the Tascosa Lockback last year I was ecstatic and purchased five of them to give to my kids one day. One of the first knives I ever carried and was gifted was a small buck lockback and it couldn't have been a more perfect knife for a youngin'

Those are some good gifts, lucky friends! What is a Muela? My searches were inconclusive.
Muela is a modern knife brand from Spain. I gave him these models:

Discovered this on research of "Gifting" a knife....

I have a friend at work who shares our enthusiasm of knives and flashlights I gave him one of the CK swayback’s that were made not too long ago

Just gave away another Olamic 247, and a Cold Steel Karambit to some good buddies...

I've given away lots of knives, especially hand-forged Thai knives. Guys like them.

Recently I gave my brother a Fallkniven F1 and a Beretta Loveless pattern. Lately I've given away a dozen or more of these Victorinox vent/poultry knives, especially to the ladies:

I have given away many knives to my friends, brothers, nephews, friend/brothers, father, step-father & father-in-law. More than I can remember. That probably has to do with both the total number given and my less than perfect memory ;). That said, the most recent round was for 4 of my best friends. Para 2 to 2 of them, mini bugout in white handle black blade to the star wars nerd, and the black/red G10 ritter hogue to a GA Bulldog fan. Was a chunk of change, but I think they appreciate them. The GA fan actually carries his, which I was pleased to see when I ran in to him at the store. He never daily carried anything other than a box cutter prior. One of the para 2 friends carries his daily and uses it hard. I have sharpened it for him a couple times already, a chip being involved in the 2nd. Not sure on the other 2.

I’ve given my best friend a Morakniv Companion, Benchmade Black 940 in S30V, Kabar USMC Fighter, Boker AK47 in XHP, and Busse LE Desert BASE in INFI w. Buy Brown sheath. He’s in the USMC and really appreciates all of them.

Gave my other friend a Zero Tolerance Sprint Run 0462TAN flipper.

Gave my other best friend a Morakniv Companion and Lionsteel Three Rapid Exchange flipper.

For Christmas 2018 I gave my brother a Marttiini Handy knife. It’s got a very comfortable handle and he uses it as a utility blade.

For my brother’s 15th birthday I gifted him a Fallkniven S1 Forest Knife with three sheaths (factory plastic, factory leather, and a custom kydex sheath). Every time we go for a hike, camping, hunting, or just bushcrafting he takes his S1. He absolutely loves it.

I’ve recently given him my Buck 112 that features a drop-point 5160 blade. I only edc fixed-blade Bucks (either a 119 or 124), and he’s always been fond of that 112. Figured it would suit him better than it suits me, and he’s been carrying it non-stop since I gave it to him.

For Christmas 2018 I gifted my dad a Buck 102 Woodsman. He takes it with him on all his mountaineering/rock climbing trips.

Sometime in 2020 I gave my dad a Leatherman Juice CS4. He keeps it in his cycling pack, and it’s helped with bicycle issues on several occasions.

For Mother’s Day 2019 I gifted my mom a Marttiini Lynx, which she uses in the kitchen all the time.

Sometime in 2020 I scored a great deal on a bundle of five vintage Marttiini belt knives. They were in poor condition, but I restored them and modified a few, and gave all of them to my mom. All the Marttiinis are her preferred kitchen knives now.

For Mothers Day 2021 I gifted my mom a custom engraved walnut-handled Opinel 6, which she keeps in her purse alongside a Mora Eldris, which I also gave her.

I’ve gifted a good friend a Great Eastern Cutlery H20 clip point, along with a custom kydex sheath for it.

I’ve gifted another friend a Cold Steel Recon Scout in O1.

I’ve probably given a couple other knives that I’ve forgotten.

If you can’t tell already, knives are my “fall-back” gift option 😆 When I don’t know what to give someone, I at least know that I can choose a quality knife to give.

Countless SAK's.

Also, a handful of modern knives to my dad which sit in a drawer while he still only carries his Case.

I gave all my kids Swisstools about a decade ago in their stockings (along with a few other things like a proper Surefire flashlight), and I was proud to find out that my youngest daughter (now 17) has daily carried it in her backpack all those years and uses it often.

My son (also now 17), though an avid outdoorsman, isn't deep into knives (or possessions at all for that matter), but I gave him an old Griptilian of mine that he carries when he's in the woods. Otherwise he carries a Vic classic I gave him.

My eldest daughter (19, damn I'm old) is the most into knives. The first big one I gave her was a Victorinox One-Hand Trekker, and when she was 15 she asked for something more along the lines of what I carry. She's a southpaw and suffered from juvenile arthritis, so I had her try a few things out and we settled on the AXIS lock. I then gifted her a Mini-Grip. Then, this past year when I was experimenting with Rit dye projects, she saw a Dragonfly I was testing with (made from leftovers of a previous blade swap), and pretty much informed me it was hers now. I never could resist her ;)

Last year, when I was visiting back home in Florida for 6 weeks and an impromptu camping trip sprang up celebrating my nephew's birthday, I scrambled to WM to pick up a Buck 119. When I left, I left him the knife. Knowing him, I'm sure it'll see some good use.

When I earned my first black belt, I gave each of my two instructors a Emerson CQC7.
Just recently gave my new son in law to be, a Joker Candanese fixed blade for an upcoming moose hunt.

A few years ago I gave my dad and each of my brothers a different type of leatherman for Christmas. Then this past year I gave each of them a Hogue Deka. Nicest knife any of them had ever owned. They were all well aware of the Hogue name for gun grips and because it’s our own last name, so I found it a fitting choice.

In 2021 I was planning to get a customized knife for my best friend for his birthday and it would have been the most I ever spent on a knife for someone else, but he passed away a few months before unfortunately. I ended up working with CRK on getting a unique graphic made that I will carry in his honor. It should arrive within the next month.

Mainly Swiss army knives, but for Christmas I gave a friend a Jeff White English trade knife. He is a Civil War re-enactor, plays a clergyman, so it is made of materials that were available in that time period, so if I understand the hobby, he could use it for living history. He also likes to camp and hike around to see historical sites, so it would be a good companion for small jobs. It has a curly maple handle, brass pins and 1095 carbon steel blade. I paired it with a leather covered field book with pad and pencil to jot his thoughts down too. Lastly, in the gift, I gsve him a forged bottle opener from our own Josh Fisher. My friend likes old fashioned sodas, no beer, so I think I covered all the bases.

A good friend got a set of carving knives and a set of chisels she uses a lot, which then necessitated a set of stones. The way she took to carving, the next big gift might be a Tormek.

I gave my mom a CRK Nyala she uses a lot. It has earned a coveted position in her Utility Bucket, a highly dense collection of tools and other mysterious things involved in running the Snuffle Sr. homestead and related gardening. (Touching Utility Bucket is not advised. Removing an item from Utility Bucket may impact life expectancy.)

She also got a UTX 70 from me when they became legal where she lives. She's always appreciated having little secrets, a tiny dagger you can hide anywhere hits an emotional sweet spot for her.

I gave my brother an awesome red Halo V I picked up in the exchange here. He lost it.

An ex-girlfriend took a few knives in the breakup. The only one I miss is an old James Brothers side opener.

Quite a few, to friends and family. CS Red River Elk Skinner, Spyderco Native 5s (the pink ones), 110s (lost count), Buck 105, 119, SAKs (grandkids), and several I don't remember.

A Carothers basic field knife to a brother, an Esee 6 to my friend’s Eagle Scout son, some Swiss Army knives over the year. Over the years I have also received knives. Seems like it goes around and comes around

Over the years I've given a lot of knives as users. I used to give Chicago Cutlery kitchen knives as wedding presents. Many of my gifts have been knives that were extras in my collection such as a Gerber EZ-out to my nephew, a cheap cold steel fixed blade to another nephew, a Kershaw change-blade knife set and a Delica to an old coworker.
I don't know how many I've given my daughter, most weren't "gifts" but were more like hand-me-downs. I did give her an o.d. Tenacious. I also gave her an Endura, a Cold Steel GI Tanto, and a Benchmade 890 (that I wish I could get back). I gave my wife a black Dragonfly but she complained she couldn't find it in the bottom of her purse so I got her an orange Dozier. I had a good sized collection of custom fixed blades and one Christmas I gave one to my brother in law and another to a nephew.
