What knives do you/have you given as gifts?

I gave a custom Emerson mini-CQC-7 to the mod of a watch forum I was on because he liked knives and I wanted him to have this one. I never used it, so it went to a good home. Yes, I knew its value, but my health was not good then and it made sense to me.

My brother in law always wanted a Cold Steel folder, so my wife and I surprised him with one on his birthday last year. We bought him the Air Lite model and he was ecstatic when we gave it to him.

My GF and I do a lot of camping and hiking. A few weeks ago when the Benchmade 539GY was released I bought one, loved it some much that I went back the next morning and bought the other one the store had gotten. Then picked up a Leatherman Wave +. When I met her up in the GA mountains for a week on her trip in the NF I gave them both to her as gifts. She loves both of them and has been using the crap out of them.

Before she had a Benchmade Proper first production she had bought for herself and a CRKT minimalist a friend had given her.

I found a store in GA that had Infidels and bought a 3300BK and she was fascinated by it and liked the mini. She also needs a good locking folder and likes the axis lock ones (have her brother a mini Bugout as a graduation gift last year). I’ve got a Mini Adamas 273NK-2201 coming from bass pro that I’m going to give her and I think I’m going to get her a mini infidel as well.

I’ve given knives to family members as gifts too but it’s a whole lot cooler giving them to a girlfriend that likes, uses, and appreciate them.

I sent a Leatherman Wave to a young fella USA medic who was about to deploy somewhere around Ukraine.

Gave my wife a SAK Classic for her keychain, and my son a Native 5 LW and this one for his 45th birthday last week....

Since joining Blade Forums:
Rough Rider, Buck, GEC (2 GEC I received as a gift that the pattern wasn't for me: too small or uncomfortable in my hand during use.) Offshore Marbles, Off Shore Schrade family (includes Imperial Ireland), Schrade USA, SAK, No Name "Made in USA", Opinel, Cold Steel KUDU and ELAND, Leatherman Wingman, ... and a couple Cold Steel machete. Not sure what else.

I honestly don't remember what I gave away/traded way in the 1965 to 2000 period. I think at least one Western L66, Ontario 499, and a Ka-Bar "Marine Fighting Knife", a (USA) Old Timer Sharp Finger. . Might have been a couple Old Timer "Schrade+" 7OT and 6OT in that period as well.

I've never sold a knife for cash. I have traded two or three for something I needed more, usually with my adding a little cash to boot.

Damn rich-dudes!? I give away my chinesium folders but that's it!
They can have the good-stuff when I'm reduced to a cryo-frozen head and shot into space. Wait, no, I'm taking these with me!

How will you open them in Space: without hands?

Rat 3 for that friend who cannot understand difference between knife, screwdriver, box cutter, can opener or ninja star - been used daily for 4 years. . About to give a few Esee 4’s to a couple buddies who need sturdy beaters.

I gave my ex a White Wolf Auto in 2001 - $300 knife at that time.. she lost it 😂.

I’ve lost count of the knives I’ve given to friends / coworkers over the past 25 years.

Feels good when a gift goes to use. Never fails to make me happy.

I gave a new Spyderco plain edge Pacific 2 to a friend to take out on his boat when he goes fishing. It was a hit!

About a month ago I gave my son-in-law a SAK Evogrip 18. I didn’t know if he had a knife or not, but he has a little garden and does a lot of outdoors stuff, so I figured he could use it. Turns out he didn’t have one but has always wanted one. He loves it and carries it everywhere. Today I gave him a garden Hori knife (no, I’d never heard of it, either), and he was ecstatic. I think I might be slowly turning him into one of us. I recently picked up an Ochs Worx Solarstorm that’s got his name on it when I kick the bucket - or I make it to the no-knife old farts home first.

Don't you feel guilty pulling him into to this world?

When we get a new truck driver I give them a pack of zip ties, roll of duct tape and electric tape, 2 wire clothes hangers and a Leatherman Rebar. I given away 8 so far.
Also off the top of my head 2 Spyderco Dragonflys, Spyderco Tenacious, KaBar Dozier, Buck 501, Buck Odessey, Himalayan Imports CAK and a handful of miscellaneous cheapies.
Also forged a knife for each of my nephews who are of age.
