Are you going to try one out? I was tempted, but I ended up getting the M390 from DLT.

Dammit.
Dammit.
Dammit.

This one, lonely little post that you laid on me on Monday has been weighing on me.

I said I wanted this, so what am I gonna do? Speaking to myself, "Am I gonna put up or shut up? Is my mouth bigger than my intent? Well is it, punk?"

So I just did it tonight. I bought one, and I guess I'll see if my dream is worth it.

Oh, and btw.......my wallet say that you really, really suck. :D

Keep us posted, I bet you're gonna love it.

My wallet would retort but it's outta gas from shelling out for my new nirvana.

I would like to see more folders in K390, CTS-XHP, and 14C28N.

I would also like to see Spyderco offer more choices of locking system on some of their popular back-lock models, like they kinda did with the Lil Native: for example, a liner-lock Stretch, or a comp lock Caly 3.
I realize that not every chassis will necessarily accommodate a different locking system, but I can dream, and they can engineer...

A Lil Manix would be great, too.

As a fan of small knives, I'd like to see a different brand's take on benchmade's 485 valet. Its a great knife, but it's overpriced and the mini axis lock makes extended fidgeting hard. Perhaps replace the axis lock with a frame lock, slightly increase the size of the thumbstuds, and improve the deep carry clip (so it can be deep carried in thick pants), and then put it in the $85-$125 range.

Alternatively, while I plan to get the rat 2 in D2, I'd really like to see it with more factory scale materials. I think g10 or(real) carbon fiber would be nice - or even thin it down a bit and make it aluminum.

Also I hope they do another drop of the Ferrum Forge gent, aside from the massdrop branding on the blade it looks stellar and it very well priced.

I don't know why I didn't think of this when I read this thread earlier..

Pictures borrowed from bladeforums. Titanium fluted PM2.

I would like to pick up a (used) Spydie Slysz Bowie...I've had two but sold them...probably my favorite Spydie ever...
...also waiting on my custom S!K to arrive...

So what do I want for 2018 ?
I'd love to see Vic release blaze orange as a cale color option from 58mm-91mm models, make their camo available for all sizes, and would love to see them release some with a camo shield scale and blaze orange back scale.

And of course a good ol' basic carbon steel from Buck and Vic, though I know that won't happen and can still live with that.
Orange plastic scales on a Vic? That would be sweet! Leave the shield in red though.

Give me a non-assisted Kershaw Blur with G-10 or FRN scales.
An Emerson CQC-7 with a FFG blade would be nice, also.

My personal short list for 2018 includes a small Insingo, a Spyderco of some sort and a Buck Froe. The Froe is for in the old Jeep Cherokee that I was given last month. All three knives have been near the top of my list for a while. Not really sure what Spyderco though. The jury is still out on that.

Knives I'm already eyeballing:
- Millit Torrent (preferably in damasteel)
- CRK Large Sebenza 21 in Cocobolo
- CRK Small Sebenza 21 Insingo w/ Micarta
- Lionsteel roundhead in carbon fiber or white carbon fiber
- WE Zeta
- Todd Begg Steelcraft mini glimpse
- Maxace Halictus

Fairly large 1st day of 2018 list. As for knives I'd like to see 2018 bring (that haven't been confirmed):
- Spyderco PM2 in LC200N
- Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight in M390 or 204p
- Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight in LC200N
- Spyderco Delica in LC200N, M390 or 204p
- Spyderco Para 3 in LC200n, M390 or 204p
- A small, slim, streamlined, lightweight, flipper WE knife, they haven't seemed to bring all of it together
- Another Elijah Isham design that's around the 3-3.5" range
- Lionsteel to create a small EDC knife that actually has good action (looking at you, crappy action on the TRE)
- Coldsteel to adapt the scorpion lock from Andrew Demko
- Kershaw and CRKT to use slightly better materials and fit & finish on their more stunning designs, i.e. more mid-range, like $70-$120.

I would totally buy a PM2 in LC200N (Z-Finit)
That would be sweet. Right at 60HRC or 60-61HRC.
My favorite stainless.
Or...
A Vanax version. It started being produced again. Its basically LC200N but with vanadium and insanity. (One can dream)

Yea it would be perfect for a boat too! Good stuff!
Yessir! I find myself on or near the water frequently for work, so I love the stuff. Do you have an opinion as to why it hasn’t gained broader acceptance among knife makers for certain (such as maritime) applications? Is it a pain to work with (seems fairly easy to grind/sharpen, so maybe the heat treat), or cost prohibitive for a lot of makers? Always great to hear the opinions of someone who knows what they’re talking about :) thanks!
