What knives do you think are overpriced for what you get? Whether its 20 dollars or 20,000 dollars post the knife you think is not worth the price, and tell your opinion on why it is not worth that price. Pictures are preferred
I will start (not good at criticizing, mind you)

What the is this knife? Is that even a thumbdisc...oh wait its a thumb plate, sounds original. Why is the knife so smooth? Do you see where the pocket clip is mounted? You will have 1/5 of this knife sticking out of your pocket. For the price (280-300 approx.) you are getting a polished piece of shit, but the good news is that it will keep your hands warm if you try to use it in the cold. I hate this knife.

That's the ugliest wave I have ever seen and I thought Spyderco waves were ugly. As far as overpriced knives are concerned, I'll have to get back to you on that one, but probably fixed blade striders, although there is one I do like.

To tell the truth, it would be easier to identify the ones that are good value.

I'd think a Ka-Bar USMC classsic is good value for your money.
Spyderco Mule team knives too.

I'd have to think Fallkniven's high prices these days are a bit too much at least compared to last year's.

Are you talking knives you have owned personally? Or is it knives you haven't owned but don't like the company? If it is knives you have owned personally that is one thing to comment on them because you can make a valid criticism through experience but if it is something you haven't owned and are only going by what you might think or have heard that type of criticism to me just won't hold water.

As for the Cold Steel Custom Series like shown above, I have owned and continue to own a couple of them. They are extremely well made knives with from good to great handle ergo's depending on the knife with a very tight lock up and decent blade steel. The Talwar I would love to own but even on secondary market they are expensive. Striders I have owned a few of them, the AR, PT CC, RCC, and one other. All folders and haven't found fault with any of them for QC issues and have been very robust and well made.

I personally don't care for some of the Kershaw designs because of handle ergo's but other Kershaw's I have found favor with. Don't care for the laminated like blades they offer for the most part. They work as advertised though so maybe an aesthetics thing. I don't usually care for lower grade blade steels either but BUCK's 420HC seems to work as advertised and is decent. There are other knives as well but will leave it at what is mentioned for me so far from experience. keepem sharp

TOPS knives come to mind, 150-200bucks for 1095 and a Micarta handle or cord wrap? no thanks.

Everything that's not custom/or using expensive materials that costs over €200 is just not worth it to me.

Nothing mass produced should cost that much unless expensive materials are used. And even then it'd better be seriously decked out.

Any fixed blade without a proper handle for over $200. Especially "tactical" ones with paracord wrap. For the same price range you could get a Fehrman or maybe even a Busse.

Strider knives, in general, are quite the effective scam.

+1 to that. Strider fixed blades are ridiculous. I had one, and kicked that bad boy to the curb within a week. Junk. Their blade "coating"/ tigerstripe wipes off from rubbing with the felt-lined sheath they come with. Their grinds are totally uneven, the edge geometry is ridiculous, the ergos are awful- their knives are just complete and utter garbage. And somehow they manage to get chumps to come out of the woodwork to pay top-dollar for said garbage.

The folders are a little better, but still pretty junky, IMO.

There's a few Al Mar & Lone Wolf models that use AUS8 & still charge like they're using a premium steel.AUS8 is NOT a premium steel IMHO.

I think a number of SOG products are over priced. One that comes to mind is the Vulcan. I like the knife I just think that compared to other similar knives they’re asking to much for it.

Emersons, everyone I have handled felt like a $15-30 knife not a $150 knife.
Busses, in my opinion INFI is not any better then plain old 1095, they are quality but still overpriced be 15-45%.
Strider, sharpened 8 dollar pry bar with 15 cents of para-cord sold for $400.

All this talk of cord-wrapped fixed blades brings to mind the fact that Cold Steel's True Flight thrower is basically along the lines of the same thing for like $20. You also know it's durable because it's good carbon steel and it's built to be whipped at trees and wood.

any production folder without 154 or nicer steel really doesnt do it for me, i wouldnt pay for one so those are overpriced. anything that costs more than 250-300 bucks and isnt custom isnt worth it for me either, i appreciate customs so much more than even 'semi custom' knives that i wouldnt pay for one, so thats overpriced. that narrows it down pretty well.

I don't think so much in terms of overpriced as I think in terms of overbudget. When I began collecting knives, I set a spending limit of no more than $200 for a fixed blade and no more than $100 for a folder. I've managed to collect some really nice knives (including a custom or two) sticking to those limits, knives I'd feel totally comfortable betting my life on if the SHTF. I don't think I could ask more than that from a knife regardless of the price.
