Some crazy stuff has happened in the last year. My wife has never really liked my knife hobby or was disinterested at best. Well two Christmases ago she got me a sebenza, this last Christmas she got me a Spyderco native lightweight.

Yesterday she ordered me a boker mini kwaiken because she saw me watching reviews on it and noting that literally no one on the forum has tried to sell theirs after they came out which usually always happens sloth a new knife.

Today she told me that I couldn't trade a knife because it was her favorite knife to use around the house. I did a double take and am just running with it.

Curious to see what the ladies on the forum and wives and girlfriends on the forum like in terms of knives! For my wife apparently it's the mini grip and blur. She said she wished that I still had the Elmax blur that I sold bc the color was cool. But she likes this blue one currently and reaches for it whenever she needs a knife.

My wife has her own knife collection. She collects all the micro models, like the smaller Spyderco knives and what not. She still isn't fond of the amount of money I have spent though. However, when I go to trade or sell a knife she says "no, don't sell that one", lol. I love her.

I've bought my wife a few knives, but her two favorites right now, without a doubt, are her Kershaw Leek, and her Buck Metro bottle opener.

The ONLY knives mine even bothers with are my mini autos.
I have a Microtech and a Pro Tech Sprint. She must've said..."That's soooooo cute"....a million times!!
I no longer view them as cool!!
😀

Mine doesn't collect or really have the appreciation for knives like I do...she doesn't understand the need to have multiple knives that look similar... However I did get her to start carrying one, a purple delica 4, then she has a kershaw wildcat in her car and a Gerber prodigy on her b.o.b.

My fiancée swiped my ESEE Izula 2 and it's now definitely her knife. If it's not on her neck it's hanging from her rear view mirror.

Hot Pink svord mini peasant for carry.

And 3 in the kitchen, 2 are shun's and one is a small custom from Austin Goldman on here as a parer.

Sounds like a keeper to me. Catch and release may not be the best way to go here.

Yah . . . well . . . don't get used to it. Probably a planetary alignment astrologically speaking.
. . . could even be a temporary change in the formula of some hormone cream etc.

All I have to do to make my otherwise wonderful partner's eyes glaze over is mention knives. Anything that goes CLACK (as opposed to click) when I unfold it looses me a point at least.

What I have in my pocket right now could just be grounds in her eyes to take me back to the pound. I have no idea how I'm going to work THAT mutually exclusive combination . . . talk about matter and antimatter . . .

In your case I recommend a Zen like dispassionate state of mind. All things are temporary (except knife buying addiction but we won't step into that ugly abyss on such a bright and sun shiny day).

PS: Oh to answer your question she "likes" semi dull ones that she can cut carrots and stuff against her thumb with. She pretty much avoids the nice laminated Japanese blades at extra mother sharpness sitting right next to said dullard and some are her's.
I have to argue with her to carry a pocket knife in her purse and it gets left at home . . .
etc.

Well, I'm the wife here, but my husband's favorites are the Case Russlock, Benchmade 32 Mini Morpho, Buck Vantage... He still thinks I'm a bit crazy for having so many knives, but he has acquired those since I've started collecting. I have a Case mini copperlock with ocean blue barnboard scales, and when I was considering modifying the blade (to make the tip straighter), he told me not to mess with it, because that's his favorite of mine.

My wife loves her glow in the dark EDC Spyderco Manix. She likes carrying/using my G10 Police 3 too.

Sweet! Are you the original knife nutter in the family or do you both collect? I tried to get the wife to carry an alox but she doesn't really have any need for one as a technical external reporting manager for a company lol. Must be fun, you could just leave a bunch of knives by your keys and whoever gets out of the house first gets first dibs.

I have the full size copperlock that I got by accident. It doesn't get much carry time but I like it too much to get rid of. The mini is on my bucket list to get!

But yesterday she actually took interest and asked me why I would want the g10 mini kwaiken over the titanium handled one and I mentioned the g10 is a little grippier and I saw her catalog that information in her head which was pretty cool. Although she thinks that at certain price points like with the Sebenza I shouldn't be using it and just let it sit around the house.

My wife's is the blue one:

I was going to get her a custom mini-Grip in blue, but she said "Get me the one I really like." (translation: "Get me the one that puts a silly grin on my face when I wrap my fingers around it.")

My wife borrowed my M4 MiniGrip with CF Cuscadi scales about a year ago....yea, I am thinking it was more of a gift then a "borrow".

My wife will take and use two knives more than any others- my Emerson cqc7 and my spyderco chaparral. She likes that they are easy to close and have a fairly long blade. She avoids my slip joints because the spring closure scares her.

Mini grip. Tango with partial serrations.

Not my taste in blade style, but hey, if she likes it and it works for her, all the better.

My wife likes my BM 940 bc it's green and purple, her two favorite colors. She also likes the Delica Ti/Damascus she bought me for Christmas due to the damascus blade and says it's just a pretty knife.

My wife carries a black SAK, a old timer shrade plastic kickback with a 2 1/2 inch blade and one of those silly micro spydercos that go on your key chain. It has a 1 inch blade.
