What knives does your wife/girlfriend like?

Funny you should say that. When my wife and I were dating, I bought her a Vic Super Tinker and told her to put it in the glove box of her car. She took the time to be polite and say thank you but you could tell by the tone of her voice and her body language that she felt no need to own a pocket knife.

A while back we were at a family get together and someone needed a knife. So, I went to the car and grabbed the SAK. Not feeling like running back out to the car when my in law was finished with the knife, I just dropped it in my pocket. Immediately, my wife is at my side demanding that I surrender her knife. Ends up that she uses it at work and often during her lunch.

Go figure.
Nice!
My wife use to say, "A knife is a knife, why do you need so many?" Now, she carries a Blind Horse Bushcraft when we camp/hike and has an old Colt fixed blade on her biking pack. (She don't care for folders) :D
Hey Mono how are you! Happy new year! Hope you folks managed to escape the flooding out there! I remember missing out about a year ago on those blind horse knives when they did a blow out sale for some of them!

Wife carries a Dragonfly in H1. Tells me stories on how she "saved the day" with her knife amongst her friends.
Hey... Makes me smile knowing she uses it. :D

Sweet! Are you the original knife nutter in the family or do you both collect? I tried to get the wife to carry an alox but she doesn't really have any need for one as a technical external reporting manager for a company lol. Must be fun, you could just leave a bunch of knives by your keys and whoever gets out of the house first gets first dibs.

I have the full size copperlock that I got by accident. It doesn't get much carry time but I like it too much to get rid of. The mini is on my bucket list to get!

But yesterday she actually took interest and asked me why I would want the g10 mini kwaiken over the titanium handled one and I mentioned the g10 is a little grippier and I saw her catalog that information in her head which was pretty cool. Although she thinks that at certain price points like with the Sebenza I shouldn't be using it and just let it sit around the house.

I believe I got my first knife when I was around 8 or 9. I grew up in the country, my husband in the suburbs, so he unfortunately did not grow up with knives. I guess his parents thought they were dangerous. He once carved a stick 'sword' with a dull axe while camping, because he didn't have a knife. I guess that was safer than an actual knife? Heh.
I've definitely gotten him interested in them, but he prefers to spend any extra money on diecast cars and diorama supplies, as he's always loved miniatures. So, I'm the sole collector here, although he will provide input on things, and has mentioned some other knives he's interested in... We have to be careful where we leave them, as we have a youngling who likes to get into things.
I think the mini copperlock is a great knife, I actually have two. I just wish the tip wasn't upswept (not sure if that's what it's called). I'd think the full size would be too big for me to actually want to carry.

These two are my wife's favs.

The day I was gifted this Warthog folder from a generous forum member, my wife walked away with it lol. She keeps it in her purse. Any time she is doing work around the house, she asks for the BK11.

I haven't found one yet, but I need one to complete my collection of these things. But they make a wharncliffe mini copperlock!

My wife, Maggie, likes the Victorinox classic that I gave her for Christmas a few years back. In use, the ladies tend to like the scissors more than anything.

I gave these little knives out to all the girls in the family - they are pink Susan Kommen models, so they have the cute factor too.

My step-mother lost hers on a vacation trip and was very upset, calling me to ask where she could get another one; she uses it daily.

My wife also likes the Shun kitchen knives we have, gravitating toward them over the JK Handmade knives I have in the kitchen block.

My girlfriend and I met because we both collect knives. How often does that happen?

Anyway, she has her own knives. She has several Spyderco Delicas (including a waved model), a waved Spyderco Matriarch, a couple of ZT0350s, a ZT0301, a Dragonfly or two, a pink Spyderco Native, a RAT 2 (pink), a Case Equestrian, and most recently a teal Kershaw Leek. She got her nails done to match the Leek last week.

My wife said "can I have this?" about my ZT0777CF before I even had a chance to open it!

Then last month she saw my new Victorinox Compact, so I had to buy another one for her.
I think the pen and the large scissors did it for her.

The vast majority of women that I know would never consider carrying a knife. The handful that do want a smaller folder for their purse/keychain. I have only met one woman that actively decided on carrying a full sized fixed blade, and she was teaching in the far north. My wife also uses a pink stainless Mora Companion at home. Gratefully without incident after opening her thumb with an endura last year.

You really need to hang out with cooler women ;) Probably 50% of my female friends/coworkers/etc carry a knife. Off the top of my head I know some carry the Kershaw Cryo, Mora Companion, Kershaw Blackout, Benchmade Adamas, Gerber Gator, Benchmade AFO II, a couple cheap gas station ones I don't know the name of, etc. And then there are the ones I carry--Benchmade Auto Presidio 5000SBK at work and Benchmade Mini Grip off duty.

What do they do for a living?

She also likes the Delica Ti/Damascus she bought me for Christmas due to the damascus blade and says it's just a pretty knife.

My wife appreciates most the ones that look "interesting," and the one she favors is my Ti Damascus Endura, or "the one with the cool blade." She'll use just about any knife I own if it's close by her when she needs one, but she tends to feel most confident with lockback knives. I think closing liner/framelocks makes her nervous.

She tries to be appreciative when I get a new one, but Darks pretty much hit the nail on the head:

My wife likes the knives I already have or the knives I'm not going to buy.

On a kinda-sorta-related note, every time we get a package in the mail, my 2-year-old daughter starts clamoring for my "knaf" so she can open the box. At the moment, she just watches and reminds me to be careful because my "knaf" is "shawp" and "owie." One day she'll get her own. :D

Lol. I remember my wife once needed a knife to open a package, so she asks me for one, and I just so happened to not have one on me at that moment (I had just changed)...

She looked at me and said, "Really!? All your knives and of course you don't have one."

I replied, "guess I need at least one more it appears."

She rolled her eyes and walked away...

My gal's favorite knife that I own is this one. She likes the Desert Ironwood Burl and mosaic pins - can't say I disagree!
