What knives does your wife/girlfriend like?

My girlfriend has her own collection, and has been "borrowing" my cqc7 for about 5 months now. I think her favorites are a kershaw emt knife, a mora, a small necker I made her(only cause it's the one I see her carrying and using a lot) and her Matriarch.

The matriarch got mentioned twice! That's an oddball knife! What is it about the matriarch that they dig?

My wife likes simple lockbacks, and has one of my Buck 112s in her purse....which means I'm always having to clean lint, fuzzies, and whatever else out of it so it will lock up safely. :thumbdn:

This is most of my wife's collection, besides the three sisters forge cct in her pocket and a backwoods fixed in her boot.:D

I sold "my wife's" yellow mini grip like two years ago. She's still mad about that one.

Some of your wives got some cool knives btw.

Yea....I miss that knife. I will need to figure out how to tactfully get it back.

G'luck with that mission! My wife is actually pretty great. She loves fancy handbags, like $400 fancy but she's relatively frugal and only gets one every 4 years or so. Your wife definitely deserves a bag to match the $300+ you got in that knife!

My girlfriend loves my Mora Pro stainless (read: her Mora Pro stainless), and my Spyderco. Knowing she's not on the forum I can say that I'm getting us a his/her engraved Endura/Delica set with stainless handles. She has small hands so the Delica should be a perfect fit, and who doesn't like shiny things?

Honestly I think the Matriarch is a very feminine knife. Everything from the name, to the curves, to the wicked effectiveness paired with a smooth shape but a jagged edge.

My wife has a mini-grip in blue that she uses around the house and a 3150 Impel in her purse. Says her next will be a mini-barrage.

My wife has a pink Ontario Rat 1 with a pink handle but talky wants my Blade Tec mouse.

The type of knife a woman needs depends on her hobbies and what it will be used for, just like it does with a man. As a woman, I do have smaller hands, but my size 7 hands can grip almost any blade comfortably, unlike those of you who have moose hands.

On my last backpacking trip to Yellowstone, I took a Coldsteel SRK San Mai III, a Letherman Micra for the scissors, and a Silky Pocketboy 170 saw. The SRK was a little overkill, but I was alone and took it for protection (from men, not bears). My next trip, if I don't need to process wood, I'll just take the micra, a small folder (Delica/Dragonfly), and a Fallkniven fixed blade (S1 or F1 depending). I have lost knives to the ground before, so I prefer brightly colored scales in yellow or orange. I have my eye on the Venom Green ESEE 4,but I'm trying to resist... Must resist.

For EDC, my Ladybug was recently upgraded to a Manbug, which my brother gave me for Christmas (Thanks, Mark!). I prefer FFG, so I like that Manbug. My new HAP40 Delica has also earned a pocket in my purse because I am unable to not carry it. In my car, I have a PE Salt I for all the dirty jobs, and my BOB has a SE Pacific Salt and PE Endura. I have also found the Gayle Bradley 2 to be an excellent slicer, and it will be my new camping and road trip knife.

I think knives are more use-specific than gender-specific, and I know lots of men who have small hands, and some who like pink knives. I personally would never carry a pink knife (but I do collect them). There seems to be a void of women's opinions on this forum, and the statement that women don't like knives is laughable... Would you like me to whip out my collection.... let's measure...!

As a woman who has a collection that numbers in the hundreds, I can tell you that there are women out there who like knives every bit as much as men. Some of you already know this, I realize.

My girlfriend isn't into knives but is well aware of my obsession. She generally hates the color pink but for some reason loves it on knives and guns. I got her a pink Kershaw chive and it's been in her purse ever since.

Nice!

Hey Mono how are you! Happy new year! Hope you folks managed to escape the flooding out there! I remember missing out about a year ago on those blind horse knives when they did a blow out sale for some of them!

We are all fine. Had some minor flooding. Missed some work due to all the bridges being closed and I couldn't get into the city. It was really bad...still is in some parts.

Blind Horse made some good stuff. Now it's Battle Horse and I'm not a fan.

My wife works at a job where she has to open a lot of boxes so a few years ago she started carrying a pink Delica and then a purple Delica. Then she moved up to a Hogue EX-04 in blue g-mascus. And just recently she has decided that she likes traditional lockbacks with stag handles so for Christmas she got a GEC #99 with in burnt stag. She LOVES that knife!

My life loves the Spyderco Dragonfly Salt I gave her a couple of years ago. She even prefers it to the Griptilian I had personalized for her in the custom shop and pretty much any other knife that has gone through my hands over the years (talking a lot of knives).

My wife loves her red Kershaw RAM.. and her knifemaker hand made santoku and chef's knives
