Tell your story....

For me I found these forums while expanding my Spyderco Collection. I noticed some really cool fixed blades on the exchange from time to time and finally broke down and picked up one of the first DC Assault Shakers. When it arrived I was hooked and began really watching the Busse forums. I had seen alot of the early knives at local gunshows years before... But I've always been a Cheap Bastage when it came to knives because I tend to be rough on them. After reading the stories and seeing the pic's here on the forums I snagged a few E series, starting off with a BM-E... well I couldn't destroy it no matter how hard I tried.... The rest is history

I too came from Spyderco. Got a AD in trade for a few things and then hit an Extravaganza (spoke to the Janator and Amy - first call!!).... and was hooked.

Quality -care - humor -tough quality - extra care - - humor........ how could you not love these knives and this company! :D  :D

I was looking for the end-all tough knife, a Battle Rat seemed to be the answer. . . Hooked by the gateway drug. :(

It was Rat's footer photo of the Three Finger. He had posted somewhere on the forum and I asked him what it was.

Ended up that I got one from Skunk about six weeks ago and now I have nine Busses and working on a custom. Actually I'd like to have a "Three Finger" looking knife made that is about 8.5 inches long.

Yes nine in about six weeks; and only the first was secondary market. So I have no idea what guys are crying about when they say that you can't find one to buy other than a secondary market.

Reviews! Was searching for reviews for chris reeve knives (steel etc.) found some articles about INFI. First busse knife that i saw on the website was the SFNO.....didn't order 1 then :( because i thought ordering from europe was out of the question....Much later i bought a sjt at the store, many will follow in its footsteps! :D One day the SFNO will be MINE, MINE I TELL YA! :D

After Afghanistan I needed a better combat/field knife than my SOG Seal Pup, which wasn't up to the rigors of real work. Basically a few weeks of research culminated in my finding Busse as the answer to most of my edged steel scenarios. Ended up with a BA-III with some serrations to make up the difference. Followed by a ZT set of which the NO became a highly customized concealment/civvie/5.11 ops fighter. Followed by a DE set of which the BM and NO saw lots of Iraq. Followed by..... you get the picture...

There was a BM on ePay and the listing mentioned INFI. Having never heard of the stuff, I started researching. That led me to BF and the Busse forum. I lurked for a while and then bought a MrS from Skunk. It quickly went out of control after that, but I've settled down now.

Living in city for EDC S&W(firearm) and Sebenza is all I need. Come to BladeForum to research for a medium size, tough outdoor utilities knife that I can cherish and admire......

Get a urban grey SJT, come to Busse forum and the rest is History.

Still try to figure out when and where to use the SK, WB, HOGFSH, and the FBM :o

and NO, I didn't need anybody to help me and offer to use my Busse for me to ease my pain :D

I was researching info on some Randall's that I had inherited, found the BF site and asked a question about what anyone thought the 'next' Randall would be (from a company longevity standpoint, style, durability, collectibility, etc.) The answer I got back from a ton of people was Busse, so I bought a BM-E, the rest is history....

Years ago I was reading an article in a knife magazine that was talking about "the right tool for the job" when it came to knife size and type. It specifically stated that you would obviously not "want to use a Battle Mistress for delicate work". I had no idea what the author was referring too so I did a little research and discovered Busse knives. I though they looked great and now I wish I had started buying Busse knives back then as well, but finances at the time did not allow for too much collecting of anything but essentials. If I had only known...

That is an interesting one for sure.

I was looking for a good fixed with a blade of about 6 inch. Did some searching in the web and stumbled over the NO. Did some researching of Busse knives and INFI.
Started to look around over here but the marked for Busses in Germany is little compared to the US.
3 month ago I bought a HOHFSHLE because it was a real good deal and it was the only one I could get.
Then I found the Busse forum on BF and since I try to control my buying. Not very successful so far.

Why be normal if you can have INFI

I got to bladeforums looking for a replacement folder :eek: (still here still looking ;))

I lost a spyderco Military, and was trying to replace it with another vintage Milly when I stumbled into BF.

I'd been carrying an EK M-5 (440C) since the 80's, but was forever reworking the edge on an already high angle (>20), just kept chipping with abus.. er a, normal use.

I hated stainless for hard use knives, but didn't know what else to do, I'd rusted 1095 to the sheath on a long wet motorcycle trip. So high carbon wasn't appealling to me.

Then I found the Busse forum and INFI.

All I saw was you Hogs bragging about the abuse your knives where capable of, and the lack of corrosion you experienced. I'm sold !!

I'm still here, and with the exception of my folder (hear that ?) all my users are INFI (and half my safe queens)

That damned SJ-TAC is what sucked me in. I bought three. :D

Now I own a SJTAC-LE among others...

I came over after getting a few HI khukuris (still love them). I'm actually waiting on my first Busse, a Satin/snake GW from a forum member. Then I'll be at the truogh for a BM.

i was reading up on my chris reeve green beret knife when i stumbled onto a review of a SHBM and i had to have one. so when i found out that they very hard to come by i bought a BM-E and it's easily the best knife i own.

i spent a lot of time on the buck forum till i finally found the busse one and i am glad i did i just wish it hadnt taken me so long
great knives and just as good peoples  it dont get much better :D

It was the Janitor's fault. Spoke to him after I was just curious after I saw a picture of a FSH and really liked the design. I called the shop and I guess they must have had some sort of subliminal message in the background. Anyway I two HOGFSHs and called in the morning. However, I think I've been severely affected with INFI-itis for which there is no cure. The rest is history. :D

I remember reading Busse ads and reviews in American Survival Guide (my all time favorite magazind, RIP) when I was pretty young and since then, I've always been interested. When I got serious about knives a couple of years ago, I checked around and found the Swamp Rat site and the Busse web sites and when the SFNO was for sale at the company store, I bought one (satin and snakeskin) and I'm hooked...

Like lococmike I read a Ron Hood review of (I thinK) the BM in ASG and filed it away in memory. Last last year I went looking for some knives for my Eagle Scout nephews and remembered Busse. Found the site and this forum, listened awhile and jumped in w/ the Hell Razor. NO REGRETS!
