What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Well I couldn't leave it alone so I ran to Wal-Mart and got some supplies. It's far from perfect but I'm surprisingly pleased with the results. Turns out to make sawcut bone covers all you need is a saw. Here's a before and after shot. I dyed the bone with chocolate brown rit dye.

So what’s up with Gunstock Jack’s continuing to raise the price every time he has new TC’s? $259 this round. Is he still saving us from the flippers?

I saw that and briefly thought about picking up another one, and despite the higher prices, they still sold out in seconds

I lost a 1919 Morgan one night when I was out getting drinks with my wife....I think I tipped the bartender with it....:(o_O

Great looking knife! Congrats!

thats impossible, theres no such coin. they stopped after 1904 and ran them one more year in 1921 before switching to the high relief Peace Dollars

For those who maybe under the impression that saw cut takes it’s name from dragging a saw across the face of the bone is being misled. Nice story Jake and your Queen Barlow came out really good! The same has been recently seen on a Barlow made by Case. I digress with the original start of this thread. Sawcut is really achieved when a circular saw is used to cut through several materials but wood seems to be the best product that leaves the sawcut revolution marks on each side of the sliced material. Not trying to teach anyone how to suck eggs, just letting folk know if they were under any doubt

You win my favorite mod for a minute. I think you did terrific work, and that knife now looks like a classic.

Glad to hear both of you taking about coins. I know nothing redeeming about them. My grandmother gave me this, she works in a little collectibles shop in downtown Pottstown PA. I had been carrying another coin, a 2oz silver dragon coin, which I have since (regrettably) given away as a gift. I really loved carrying that thing, might look for another one.
