What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Nice collection! Do you have a separate box for your 14's?
Also, are you missing the white TC pin??

Thanks! Yes, I have a specific cigar box just for the 14s, Ive kept the most important ones to me and they all fit perfectly together along with the sole ebony 14 single clip. Actually all single clips only in that box 😄 the spears didnt make the fold. The white pin is in the tube 👍

They are all called "barlows". It's hard to choose my favorite. Even if i really love my traditionnal barlows, modern material are nice too! I think my favorite is the GEC#15 TC Ancient Barlow, it would be awesome to have a #77 or even a #86 Ancient Barlow. It's even harder to choose what i like the most between blade shape on Barlows, i like how the Spear shape complete the shape of the bolster and handle, but clips blade alone looks better (and the GEC clip blade with a long pull looks the best) but my favorites blade shapes are the wharncliffe/sheepfoot/lambfoot...

Beautiful barlows Harry! That SEO&S is a petite thing.
It was a real surprise for me when I received it Dwight . I had the only bid ,$10 , on it just so I could get a better SEO&S than the other one that I got in 2014 . Then I had to pay for a shipment from Sweden . That is when I found out how small it is . It is a pretty solid knife with Integral Bolsters and I let folks at the GEC Rendezvous see it and they claimed they had never seen one like it .

Harry

Still enjoying this one :)

That was one lucky find Harry. The barlow gods were smiling down on you that day! ;)

My little Barlow collection. Just 3 but they are nice ones ~

Top - Green River Works RUSSELL

Middle - REMINGTON

Bottom - A Moore Maker Baby Barlow from 2015

And a detail of the covers - 2 smooth bone and Sambar Stag on the Moore Maker. The Russel is especially fine.

Very nice Ray. The baby barlow from Moore Maker is pretty cool too. I'm kinda partial to the Queen Moore Makers.
Treasured gifts from Charlie :)

They certainly are my friend :) Thank you

Wow! That's very impressive Dwight  I love the bolster stamp
Thank you Jack. You know the more I look at the tang stamp the more it looks like it might be "Monumental" instead of Continental. Does that ring any bells with you?
