Thank you Charlie, that is a wonderful pair of Russell's you have. You would think as many Russell's that were made they would be easier to find in decent condition but most you see are well worn but I guess they were an inexpensive knife made to be used up and they were. When you see the prices in vintage catalogs they around 3.00 a dozen so retail probably less than .50 cents.

The handle is green dyed woolly mammoth tooth, done by Mammoth Mike. It was called the "Tree of Life" series due to the tree shield. I guess so many people pointed out it's a near match to the Boker tree symbol, so the idea got scrapped after this first run. Only 15 knives were made with that shield on it.
