What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

A Christopher Johnson of Sheffield barlow, pre 1955 (when they were sold to Wostenholm). In remarkable condition for its age, both blades appear unused.

Good score!
Some handsome looking Barlows there, Charlie! I like that Utica profile. Whats the closed length on these?

The sheepsfoot Kutmaster and the Schrade at the bottom are particularly good looking, in my opinion.:thumbsup:

Nice pics, gents. A sheepsfoot #77 Barlow is sadly something that’s missing from my collection accumulation.

Nice collection of 77's!

I have a thing for barlows.

Wow, one is even still in blister! Can you make more detailed pic of that one? Which year is it? If I had one I'd be torn between the want to unpack and let it free (and catch that rare feeling when you unpack something new which is, nonetheless, old, but still new, like time traveling), and the want to leave it intact to save the precious old time package, ha-ha!
