What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Here’s a curved Barlow that also came my way this weekend, a Bulldog Brand Tobacco Barlow that I received as a gift from Old Engineer Old Engineer (thanks, Harry!).

Great looking Russell Barlows, Charlie! Love the curved ones. (You in closer to talking Bill into making one?) 😉😁

The big one with the fish scaler(?) on the spine is really interesting, too!

Most of my Barlows are GECs, but here are a couple older Daddy Barlows. I just picked up the HSB at the Badger show this weekend.

A couple of nice Daddys, Barrett!!!👴😁

I like these old Kutmaster Barlows, especially the sawcut black synthetics (which the electric company isn't. The handles have shrunk on that one, but there's no celluloid damage. It isn't shrinky-dink either, but never mind.

My only other spear point Barlow, other than a one-blade Case I got when they took them out of the vault, is this bone-handled Kutmaster that's been waiting for years for me to decide whether to add some dyed epoxy to the superglue. (I think I will. Today!)
