It looks like they stepped up the QC as they seem to have started using some modern manufacturing technologies, but have stopped offering them in carbon steel.

IMO I believe that GEC got it right with the 77's and 86's . Others of the newer Barlows are either too short or too fat for me , but that is just my opinion .

Yes the #77 frame is pretty nice and relatively narrow.

That new #25 watch pocket Barlow however I really don't get.
The length is appealing, but the frame is shaped like a baby carrot with how little it seems to taper.
I'm sure you can get a fairly solid grip on it for a small knife, but it just doesn't look right.

I have a few of the #25's and do not regret buying them . I did not buy them with any intent on using them . They are Barlows and are different !!!! When I started collecting knives , my focus was on collecting Barlows . The very few that I have are very hard to open but since they just stay in their drawers that does not bother me at all . But now I can have a few in my collection .

I'm not really very good at collecting because I'm picky, but if I wasn't picky I couldn't afford them all anyways.
I " collect " the Buck 305, but will never have a truly complete collection because there's a few that I don't really want.
