What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I´ll play:
Two quality products and a bad picture of them.
Best regards from Spain!

LOL! I got the Strawberry jam with Champagne too :D

Now in Spain - It warms my heart to see all these Barlows being enjoyed all over the world!:)

That's what makes a good Traditional Barlow - A good Tradition!!
One that extends across national boundaries!!

I hope these knives are accompanied by a Happy New Year for all!!

Hey Alex,
Its a wire stripper!
Hey, you're right! Don't know why I didn't think of that.
(I strip a lot of wire, in my line of work...)
Going to try it out this afternoon, when I rebuild an electronic throttle assembly that's sitting here on my desk. ;)

Edit: Ack! Seems I have left my Charlow at home today, in favor of this Wostenholm Sheffield barlow. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

Remington made some pretty barlows during USA Alcohol Prohibition. Something made them write upside down:-)

thanks for the kind words gentlemen
I find Remingtons particularly pleasing among barlows. This is the roughest one Ive had so far, so I tried my luck at hammering out the blade wobble. The operation was a success, and inspired confidence. I used the tutorial Duncan linked to by Jack. I liked using the clamp first to be able to test how tight the blades were getting. Thanks again

A good traditional barlow makes Fun KniFart ;-)

Charlie, any chance of seeing a spear point with a wharncliff blade in place of the pen blade?

I would buy that. Or a clip point with wharncliffe secondary. Maybe some black bone? Is that a traditional cover? Cause I really think it would look good, really classy.

Hey Dan. I have thought of that configuration, ala the Bladeforums Barlow of the similar configuration.
It usually comes to this:
It's not strictly a traditional pattern, and I can't afford to go that far out on a limb.
I am thinking of doing another Spear Barlow, with enough differences to distinguish it from the Early (PPP) ones from a year ago. To do a Wharncliffe version, I would have to know I could sell 50 of them. I'm just a blue-collar guy sticking his neck out farther than he should!! Just ask my wife!!
So you can see it is a dangerous path - for many reasons!

Hey Charlie, you can count me in for at least 1 soup bone of every pattern from here on out

Since I missed out on the spearpoint Barlow, I would be into getting one. Is the clip point out of the picture for another run?

Hey Charlie, any chance you could so some form of pre-order on them and then get production going once you had enough sold, kind of like what was done with the forum knife?

I would pick up a single spear point Charlow at the drop of a hat. I'm not sure how you would alter the previous blade shape but my hopes are that you don't delve into the bulbous spear that GEC has put out in the past. Just put up a post yesterday about my longing for a single blade Charlow and another shot at it would be much appreciated! ....and now that I am playing with borrowed money I could possibly pick up more than one if you did two blade shapes at I was fond of as single bladed knives. Dont know if you can tell but I'm awfully excited about the prospect at more of these being produced:D

Be careful guys. We can't make deals on the Forum!
I probably said too much, but I just wanted to let everyone know that some interesting knives are coming this year!!
