Thank you Sir! You do too :-) And I agree the Redbone is awesome! I believe Rust Red was a different color, though the tube on both of mine still says Rust Red, curiously on the spear point it says Jigged Bone (which its not), and Rust Red sawcut bone for the Clip. There was also a change from fine sawcut, to coarse sawcut. My Clip is all fine cut, the spear is fine on one side, and coarse on the other.. which I think is a fun piece of the history and evolution of the Charlows.

here is fine on the soupbone, and coarse on the pile side of my Redbone spear.

Congrats also on getting one of the pile side pen Spears, my favorite config for the spear for sure.

I note that the 2 blade Spear Redbone is 8 grams heavier than my 2 blade sheepfoot in blackwood. Im a big fan of wood covers.

i have a thing for these old schrades with the fancy bolsters.
I think they're pretty cool too. I have one of those with a faded out Raccoon on the scrimshawed scale. Other than that the knife is in excellent shape. I bought it as a user to go in rotation with some of my other knives. ;)

Thanks for the info Jon.

One of the fine members here answered my in search of and sold me that pile side pen spear out of his collection! My favorite config also.

I'm pretty sure Charlie will do a run of spear or clip main with small wharncliffe pile side after this next batch:D.(weak attempt at old jedi mind trick I have no idea what Charlie is up to.)
How sweet would that be. Put some fine wood covers on them. I think you can sell 50 easy!

I like the flush and square tangs on your KK, Jon. They used to be a point of pride with cutlers, "back in the day"!
In fact, I like the whole Barlow!!

A hard working knife that has been put through the paces...

Here's my current Barlow stable, comprised of 5 blades, which are keeping me entertained while the next batch of Charlows comes out:

Thanks Charlie! This humble collection was made possible by your great vision and undertaking of the TC Barlow project.

am515 - reeeal nice red bone Spear!!!!
That's a bunch of mighty fine knives you have there!!

jkulysses - that's a very nice Barlow by Canal Street!-beautiful Bone - if its anything like their Trappers-it would have a beautiful mellow soft pill-probably around a 3? - how'd I go?

What makes a good traditional Barlow?

It's good when it appears in your mailbox today!! Not used much, the bone and pattern look suspiciously like Schrade, but the tang is stamped Shapleigh etc. (see pic).
Nice peachseed, little used, snappy and nice. Gotta love a good Sheepfoot blade!

Anyone have this knife , and/or the tang number in a catalog?

They do indeed! Kinda wish they had long pulls like the last spear points but look great none the less. Hoping I can grab one of these, got my name on the early reserve list so here's to hoping.
