What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Lol! Don't worry about it, Charlie sold me a beautiful antique yellow sawcut sheepsfoot instead, and a lovely piece it is too!

Paul

My apologies, Paul (pmew). I didn't know I had one - so much for the STEEL TRAP theory of Paul H!:o

Wow! Some really beautiful Barlow's....I just got this one today, plan on using the heck out it!

Also don't know if this one qualifies? I think it says Humphrey's Radiant on the tang? Single blade, half stop, really tough to open and snaps shut like an alligator....love the dark wood.

VERY NICE! I really like the uniqueness of this material.

Got to give a big thanks to Barry for mine. I mentioned to him several weeks ago that if he got any in, I wanted one. I had almost given up hope until I got the email yesterday evening.

Alright Charlie, we need to see some really nice marrow bone with nice wide marrow channels showing....dyed red as a homage to the hard working barlows of yesteryear.

Congrats on your single spear Charlow Paul. I can't boast enough about how much I love my single spey Charlow (in African blackwood). It's come to dominate my EDC rotation. In fact the top three EDC's lately have all been 15's! I've developed a fascination with the #15 now.

Here it is... now it just needs to get used ;) :p

... I´m looking forward seeing this nice knife in a patina dress.

Charlie, do you have walnut left over for the razor barlows?

I think we have enough to do some, Paul. Just thinking about the handles actually.

Nice find, Jonathan!!

Good shots Jon!
Here is just a beeeeeeeauuuuuuutiful knife - fantastic Jigging, lovely thin Bone on the scales - everything is done perfectly!

Welp, I had planned to purchase a walnut spear Barlow tonight (had one still in stock picked out) but it was gone! Bummer.

Here is a very weird one my dad recently picked up. I haven't found a lot of info on it but I've definitely never seen one like it. The only thing on the tang is the Queen stamp and etched on the actual blade it just says Queen Steel Made in USA that's it. It's very light weight and the scales are some sort of delrin.

I want to say a big THANK YOU to barry! I thought all the barlows with 3rd cut stag sold until I also got an email from him! I also purchased a walnut from him which I missed when they first came out! Both of these knives are amazing! I can not believe the quality. I would also like so say a big THANKS to charlie for making it possible for me to own these knifes! Now on to some pictures!

Not the greatest photo's. Also the stag has a surprising texture!

This is made off of an old Keen Kutter pattern. It is a traditional pattern with modern materials.
