What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I love the wide profile of that sheepfoot blade![/QUOTE]

It's just a Prov. R.I. Cutlery she'll knife, but it gets the job done. I don't give this o e much pocket time but I figured I'd drop this one in my pocket for old times sake.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys! These knives were a real pleasure to work on!

Brad, it was Mike and Derrick that decided to put the etch on the pile side of the blades. I've only seen it on a couple of knives, but I like how it turned out!

Evan....outstanding job my man. My wife and I own some very old rosewood furniture from China. Makes me want to chop it up for knife handles
but she would kill me in the process. You done good my friend.

Duncan and Jack - I am completely envious! You were both treading near hallowed ground!!

How about this Barlow? Fit for a King??
:D

It is sort of a dichotomy - a sturdy, working man's knife, all dressed up in Pearl!!

Smashing Charlie! :)

Wow Jack - my mind still swims with memories of you taking Sue and I out - SUCH history -and hard history at that-hard in the way that I am thankful I am in this time zone - thats for sure!

Hard for sure Duncan, if you ever get the time, check this out: https://archive.org/details/sheffieldineigh00leadgoog

I've been thinking about getting one of those queen barlows too. I like the size and shape better then what other companies are doing. But this last month I have been stretched thin on my knife money so I have to wait :(

Hard to beat the value on that knife. I like the D2 steel, and the walnut handles. I also like the size. Queen is really starting to make a nice knife in the past year or so. Everything I have seen for the past year has really been a step up for them.....and their prices are much more in line with the avg consumer. I'm purchasing that knife in a single blade for less than $60, and would seem to be a steal. I'll post a review after I have received it, and let you know if it is as good a deal as it appears to be.

Mr. Bad, that is quite a score on those barlows. Having now seen it up close, I think I like the tan better than the yellow jig bone. The Palo Santo is very different but I like it....a lot! I don't think there are many who scored a soup bone....very very nice. Congrats, and thanks for sharing the pics.

Hey Folks,

Can anyone tell me about a Tidioute 151114STL "TC Barlow" Anniversary" mod Red Soup Bone. My wife bought it for me as a present this past week and I have not received it yet but am curious about it as I'm sure its a nice looking knife from the pictures I have seen of them on the web. Thanks in advance for any info.

That is a nice looking Queen Ishrub, and that D2 steel sure holds a great edge and Relee is right the price is a good value.

I produced those to celebrate 2 years of producing TC Barlows! She must really love you, BladeBrain! They are hard to come by. It was a small factory run!!

The walnut on those Queens is quite spectacular! I wonder how they got it to look that way??

BladeBrain, I think Charlie (Waynorth) first announced it in this thread back in November last year.
