Barry, nice red bone. The Case red bones are some of my favorites. I've shown my mint ones but here are my users, early 60's.

Nice Furness Gevo.

Was it made in 1665 at the outbreak of the Bubonic Plague in the English village of Eyam? The people infected stayed there to avoid spreading it and washed with vinegar.

Cool stuff! :)

THE BACKWOODSMAN magazine, September/October 2015 issue, has an article about BARLOW knives starting on page 58.

I do not know if this article is online but it is in my husband's new magazine that he picked up on Monday night.

I do not know how accurate this article is but I thought that it might interest some of you here.

You're very welcome my friend, I'm sure there are plenty more for you to explore

I'm assuming that's a 'D' next to the 'E'?

Tweedale mentions an Enos Furness (1836-1905), son of Matthew and Eliza Furness. The most prominent Furness cutlers were Matthew and Edward.

Edit - I posted an ad for Edward Furness & Sons, from one of the Sheffield trade directories, in the vintage ad sticky recently
