What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Thanks, glad You like it! I didn't know what name to choose when I created my profile and haven't find out how to change it... mat

Pertinux can tell you how, but it will cost you money.

Just to be clear, I don't charge for the information(!). :D

What...?, a name change will likely cost you $10; information here.

An alternative sometimes available to new posters (but up to the Mods, I believe) is to establish a different new account right away under the preferred name, then start a thread in Tech Support in which you post from each account in turn and ask for the first (what...?) to be closed down.

We can actually have a lot of fun with your current forum name, but I fear it will remain confusing in the long run.

To change your name, please follow the instructions in the NEED HELP thread in Tech Support. You will need to wait for the site owner to make the change. He is the only one with full admin privileges. (That second method is extra work for the mods and is not standard.)

Knife Nirvana!! I LIVE to see photos of this knife (and its clones) posted!:thumbup:
Sarah, you are blessed to have such an outstanding cutlery example!
(If it also had a pen blade, you'd have to hire extra security to prevent me from doing something rash.:D)

I received both of these off the bay in the last week or so. The left hand is a Utica of recent manufacture. Given the utilitarian nature of Utica's Kutmaster brand I was surprised at the fit and finish of this knife. It is made with 1095 steel, brass liners and copper or brass wash bolsters. (The brass tint subtle and can't be seen in the picture.) The handles are jigged bone with green coloration.
The right hand knife is an older Queen with sawcut bone handles. There is a nice patina on the bolsters but both blades were fairly greasy and so has not accumulated any patina.
