Exceptional specimens! Welcome to the Barlow thread. :)

I posted this earlier, but I was so pleased with the way that the picture came out that I wanted to post it again.

Lovely Photo's of some gorgeous knives everyone! Thank you for the comments on the old I*XL as well!

Augie, Loving that Appaloosa Bone.

Philllll - nice wee Rare one that Sir!

Norm, great first Barlow, the older Case Appaloosa and red bone Barlows are some of the best Barlows out there. Watch the checkbook, Barlows can become an addiction :D

I can see why. I really like the Barlow design. And your examples were beautiful.

The problem will be trying to divide time and money between these and the old John Primble knives I've been after. So many choices....

Been hanging around here and slowly getting addicted to these traditional Barlows. I ordered a couple of Rough Riders and was tremendously impressed with the fit and finish. I then ordered a new Old Timer and although OK, not quite up to the standard set by the Rough Riders. Anyway, I got to wanting a USA made Barlow, but wasn't wanting to spend the money for a GEC yet, so I scoured the bay until I won this one. The listing said it is a 1950's or 1960's model NOS.
It doesn't appear to have been used or carried. It looks like a decent knife to me, but I really don't know anything about these USA made Imperials.

Yours looks much nicer than mine. Good score. According to the Schrade Collectors sub-forum, the "USA" being vertical is from 1956 to the end of production in Providence, RI. (I don't remember if that was in 1984 or 1988)
The blades are high carbon steel, and get wicked sharp, as this as they are, they make for a good slicer.
Carry and enjoy. That is what it was made for.

Thank you for the comments on the Russell Robb, Harry, and Mike !:)
