Holy Ragg Phil!
That looks good!

Duncan and I early this morning before their flight departed. Nanc and I had a WONDERFUL time with Duncan and Sue during their visit:thumbup:

I'm holding a 2013 Spear front, Pen behind TC in ebony. There's history in the knife that it resided with Duncan in NZ until I was able to find a replacement for the single Spear he lost. Duncan's holding a 2015 New Day Spey with Pen behind clad in ebony that he gifted to me when they were released.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Charlie as his TC releases were very instrumental in bringing Duncan, Sue, Nanc and myself together. Here's to the power of a great knife and great friends that will last a lifetime!!!

To say we had fun is a huge understatement :D

Fantastic pics Paul, I am so glad that you folk were able to get together :) :) It's nice to see Duncan when he's not full of cold too! :D By chance I am carrying the same knife as you today, gifted to me by Charlie when they first came out :) Below it is the Charlow Duncan gave me in Sheffield :) Great stuff guys, love you folks :)

Pictures worth a thousand words, indeed. I'm so happy for all of you. Thanks so much, guys!

Great to see you post P

The trip of a lifetime! It shows on those happy faces!

Absolutely! :)

Great photos, guys! I look forward to reading more about your adventures.

Here is a 14 & 15 comparison shot I took. The 14's are slimmer than I expected. The proportions are just right, though. This will be a handy little knife, and still strong enough for some serious work if needed.

All these new TC's being posted is making me jealous! Congrats to all who scored a Lick Creek TC, they are beauties for sure. I guess I will have to console myself with what I have available! :D Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone!

Happy 4th to all, Lloyd

Thanks for the comparison shot, philllll!:thumbup:
Is there some key "tip-off" that tells me, in a photo of a single TC Barlow, whether I'm seeing a 14 or a 15??
I think the "back" of the C on the bolster is a bit thicker on the 14, but I'm not sure I can recognize that when I see just one knife!
I welcome any hints on distinguishing features experts are willing to share! (Blade/handle ratios, bolster/handle ratios, are any things like that visible to the untrained eye of a naked observer?? :D)

I think you noticed the second biggest distinguishing feature - the width of the far left portion of the C is very noticeable on the 14s. On the 15s, the line of the C is about the same width throughout.

The most distinguishing feature is the words "Lick Creek" which define the circle on the blade of the 14s. The 15s have the stars and the word "knife' in that same circle.

I noticed that tip off too, GT. The "C" on the 14 has a thick back side, and the proportions are somewhat different. The "C" on the 15 is mostly round while the 14 is more flat/oval shaped.

Thanks, Dean and Phil, for your tips on distinguishing between #14 and #15 TC Barlows in photos. That close-up of the bolsters is really great confirmation of the difference in the shape of the Cs.

I believe the pins are slightly bigger on the 14s as well.

A friend mentioned that to me. Not sure if your remark is sarcasm or not but I don't believe they're bigger.
They're the same as the 15 pins which looks a bit off considering they're a much smaller frame.

I think smaller diameter pins would have been a much more balanced look.

No I was serious.I just put that little guy at the end to suggest I was wondering if I was actually right lol

I LOVE my wee TC's. Extremely nice knives.
Thank you Mr. Paul Hilborn and Mr. Gun stock Jack:)

Sue and I are dragging our feet - last day of a mind blowing holiday.
Picked up lots of knives from my good friends house who also acts as a Post shop for me.
I will contact all the people once I get home to say thank you for sending me te knives.

Home in 36 hours :(/:)

I'm real glad to cement friendships with handshakes and have a chance to look at some of my friends knives - ahhhhh life is great isn't it!
