What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Hoping the new TC clip turns out like the New Day Barlow. I thought that one had some really nice jigging to it.

I agree. I will be disappointed if it looks like the viper jigging. I can't imagine it would, but you never know with GEC.

Charlie, do you have preproduction pics to share?

Since the beer scouts are in production at the same time as the TC #15, it seems like a convenient time to have a cap lifter added..

Image from google search - someone's here.. I forget who. Primble maybe, I don't know for sure.

uh oh.
Raise the tomato shield.:D

That one is a beauty cbr!

That dang tomato picture just sucked 30 minutes of my life away. Who knew, people on Blade Forums love tomatos! Really, try searching tomato's and see what you get! - actually don't do it, it was terrible...

So, now I know more than I ever want to know about forum members and there Tomato preferences, what the heck does this picture mean lol?

You're right, got 9 full pages of search results in "General Knife Discussions" alone.

I will give it a go.

Cbr,
This thread is about Traditional Barlows only. Emphasis on the Traditional part. The Barlow has traditionally never been done with a caplifter. Therefore it does not really fit in this thread specifically. There are other Barlow threads here that it would fit in though. It is a beautiful Barlow! Just not traditional in the sense that it was never made with a caplifter back in the day.
My "tomato shield" comment was meant as a joke, as this has come up before...

Mr Black,
Fine looking tomato there!

Who knows?! :D The subject of cap-lifters and Barlows comes up about once a year. You have a choice, you can look back in this thread to the last time it came up - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...od-Traditional-Barlow?p=15679549#post15679549 (with apologies to jfowl31 ) - or just search on 'cap-lifter' within this thread - or it's.... :D

(picture removed to save space)

Okay, thanks for clarifying.. I read through the first couple months of this thread and have a better understanding of the (tomato) point. To pay homage of the traditional barlow, I think I will have a tomato with dinner tonight, cut with a barlow without a cap lifter. It will be a regular sized tomato, not the giant pictured above. Thanks for the education - always good things to learn here

GEC has some in progress pics of the jigging on the boys knife version, I wouldn't be surprised if the same bone/jigging winds up on the TC barlow

I might have to go back and read the tomato stuff! Thank you for being so understanding though :)
