What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

After a week in the kitchen, this one's acquiring a nice honest patina.

"When you can choose to drop one of these Sheepfoot Barlows in your pocket in the morning, life is good!"

I was able to pick this terrific Walnut TC Real Sheepfoot Barlow up on the exchange....

Well Done my friend! Those walnuts are very special TC's - the whole underlying of Traditional right there with the family Historic Walnut!

Wow. That wood grain in the walnut is just beautiful. Nice find.

Red Soup Bone. My personal favourite (with the exception of an Antique Amber Sawcut, which is my grail).

That's a beautiful example! We share the same grail :)

Thank you. And I hear you. If I ever snare one (very doubtful), I'll hold it for half the year at mine and send it to you for six months. But you gotta send it back. [emoji6]

Very nice Ironbut! The 3rd & 4th from the left, yellow ones, is that Delrin? What was their official descriptions? Won't misplace that one, for sure!;)

Thanks Bugdoc. I think the sunlight made them appear brighter than they are in person, but those 77s are both sawcut bone. I'm sure someone more knowlegable will be along with the correct names, but I think the one is referred to simply as green & I think the other is called chestnut sawcut.

Wow, both Very nice Drew:cool:

Just a BEAUTIFUL Barlow Dadpool:thumbup:

One of my most favorites Ron, the history and personal tie to Charlie make this one so special:thumbup:

This thread needs to be on page one again.

Quite an impressive group there Ironbut:cool:

^^^^That's a nice line up of Barlows, Phil.

We just got back from our annual two weeks of visiting family in FL a week ago. Tomorrow night we're expecting 8-12"+ of snow from a Noreaster here. Maybe we should've held off on our trip down there for a couple weeks.:)

Nice collection, Philllll!
I can imagine you looking at the array, and thinking "It seems like an Ancient kind of day!", and selecting that scratted beauty for your pocket!!
;)
