What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I have two Barlow Beauties that are in rotation for my EDC.

Two beautiful barlows right there! ^^^^

Hey all have a question, was inspecting my TCs and noticed a few have some small rust spots on the interior liners. Looked through the rest of my collection, or at least the carbon knives.. and it was mostly just the TCs with that issue. I know they are all steel. There are probably more appropriate threads but if anyone could shoot me a PM on how they have dealt with their TCs in this way I would appreciate it. I have oiled the liners.. wiped them, etc but seems like it will need something with a little more friction. Thank you!

Finally, I've figured out the code on the middle Schrade Barlow Charlie!!!
X=Ship
I=To
I=Paul
5=Hilborn
S=Now

Not sure how, but am certain that's what it means:D

LOL!!! ROFLMAO!!!
Thanks for the belly laugh Paul!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I see you're using the old Jedi mind trick........... These are not the droids you are looking for....These are not the droids you are looking for..... :D

I had rust all over inside and out of a gec radio knife I got yesterday not deep rust but it was spotted everywhere I have 3M polishing paper which I have used on several of my knives. To get it out of the inside I figured I’d use a popsicle stick with the paper wrapped around it, it was too thick to get in the very bottom towards the back springs but it provided a good amount of friction to really get the sides cleaned up well. After that I folded a small piece twice and put a toothpick down in the corner of the paper so it could get the back springs and reach everywhere down in there. I used pieces that were big enough to hold both the paper and the tooth or popsicle stick. The paper worked really well as it gets less abrasive as you use it so it ended up having the same kind of satin finish it does when new. I used the 30 micron paper. The coarsest from the pack I got from Amazon.

Thank you for that insight and info!

The wooden stir sticks from coffee shops (like Starbucks) are a bit thinner than popsicle sticks, but still are ridgid enough to get the job done.
